PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The HPFC-6700/6750 Tachyon DE4 device is a high-performance low-
cost 2-port 4-Gb Fibre Channel controller. It features a 4-lane native
PCI-Express bus enabling full-duplex operation. The DE4 device is an
integrated single chip solution ideal for a variety of high-performance
I/O applications as well as HBA market opportunities.
The DE4 device supports an external Boot ROM, which makes it
possible to load vendor unique ID's and boot code into the device.
The Tachyon Family of Fibre Channel Protocol IC's is the industry
leader in market share and performance. Tachyon's proven State
Machine architecture scales directly with system CPU performance
and is not limited by the constraints of an embedded processor.
The DE4 device supports the Protection Information Model as
described in the SCSI Block Commands - 2 (SBC-2) Standard, which
incorporates a Data Integrity Field (DIF) in data records. Additionally,
DE4 has masking capabilities for enhanced functionality. T10 DIF, PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
