To Whom it May Concern:

I have known Tina for two years, and in that time I have enjoyed her politeness, hard work and
diligence in striving to do the best job at the task set before her.

Tina is gentle, kind and conscientious; I watched Tina spend a tremendous amount of time and
effort creating and executing a difficult task I set before her. Tina was asked to be the
prosecutor in mock trial that put President Truman on the stand to justify his decision in
dropping the Atomic bomb. Tina worked hard, presented a thorough case, and as a teacher I
could see how hard she worked to get out of her comfort zone and how important it was for
her to do the very best when it came to putting her name on something.

Tina is reliable, kind and hardworking. While reserved and somewhat shy, Tina does not wilt to
a challenge and goes above and beyond what is asked of her. She is dedicated, sincere and
mature. I highly recommend Tina Tep for admission to the university of her choice. She will
represent herself and her chosen university’s reputation well.

Respectfully,

To Whom It May Concern,

It is my sincere pleasure to recommend Tina Tep for admission to your university. I have known
Tina for four years now and she displays many qualities that make her a perfect fit for your
institution.
I first met Tina when she entered our AVID program as a freshman. This is a program that stands
for advancement via individual determination and its mission is to close the achievement gap and
assist first generation students to prepare for college admission. It was evident from the first day
that here was a student wise beyond her years, one with intellectual curiosity and a drive to finish
high school and attend a four-year university. She was also a member of the Advanced Sophomore
English class and AP Literature class that I teach. She earned A’s in both courses and always put
huge effort, care, and detail in all of her assignments and presentations. Tina has a strong work-ethic
and is strong in both organization and interpersonal communication. She is a natural leader and
others gravitate to her for both personal and academic help. She works very well in a team and is an
active member of our award winning Student Government/Leadership program. In fact, she is an
Associated Student Body (ASB) Senior Senator this year, and was a State Guide for the National
Association of Student Councils. Tina is also the current President for the Student Health Advisory
Committee, an active member of Key Club, National Honor Society, and the Health Sciences Club.
I am continually impressed on how much time Tian puts into her school community, as well as her
determination to challenge herself with rigorous coursework. She has completed multiple AP
courses, Anatomy & Physiology, as well as our highly touted Health Sciences program.
Tina shines at multi-tasking and this is evident in her ability to hold down several positions of
leadership, remain active in her community, earn high grades, and compete in both Track & Field
and Girls’ Basketball. Even with how involved she is in school, athletics, and volunteer work, she
still maintains an impressive 3.86 cumulative grade point average. Tina is aware of the hard work
that college will demand of her and she is ready and excited for that challenge.
Tina Tep is the type of person who will face every challenge willingly and will shine. I
enthusiastically recommend this student for your university, as well as for any scholarship award you
can provide. I look forward to hearing about all of her future successes.
Sincerely,

Recommendation for Tina Tep:

I welcome the opportunity to give a recommendation to Tina Tep. I have had the pleasure of knowing Tina for over three years
now, and during that time I have come to know a very bright and hard working young lady. Tina is the type of student that
every teacher wants to have in class.

Tina exhibits all of the Core Values the Lam Scholarship is based on. But the ones that strike me the most with Tina is the Core
Values of Teamwork and Achievement.

Tina is a current member of the leadership, Key Club, and National Honor Society. In addition, she also films all of the basketball
games for the Century Girls program, where I am the Assistant Varsity coach. She travels with our teams everywhere we go and
does a fantastic job with the video, which helps our teams improve from game to game. Without her contribution to our teams,
we would not be able to see where work needs to be done to be better basketball players.
Her commitment to Century also shows in her involvement in leadership. She worked hard with her fellow leadership
classmates to make the National Association of Student Councils Conference a success at Century when it hosted in the
Summer of 2016. She served as a State Guide and welcomed delegates from across the country. Tina has also given many hours
of her time in volunteering for multiple organizations.

All of these endeavors require an immense amount of Teamwork, especially in leadership. Tina is very organized and is able to
lead and motivate when needed, but at the same time is willing to take instructions from other parties. For Tina, it is all about
getting the job done and doing it to the best of her, and her classmates abilities. Tina and her fellow leadership classmates have
come together as a great team to provide fun activities throughout the year. Century High School would be a very different
place without it.

In addition, Tina is a very good student. Her Achievement in many difficult classes shows in her transcript. She is currently in my
Physics class where she is doing great. Her attention to detail and desire to understand the concepts, and not just memorize
formulas and facts, is a testament to her Achievement in the class. And in all her classes. She strives to understand why
something works, not with just getting the answer. She is also very thoughtful in her learning. She is a very well organized and
disciplined young lady.

It is my pleasure to know Tina. She is a motivated and organized individual. Her willingness to sacrifice, work hard, and help her
fellow students, has gotten her where she is and will continue to create many opportunities for her. I highly recommend Tina
Tep. She will continue to pursue her goals after high school with the same energy and dedication that she works with now.
Thank you for your time.
