REQUEST FOR INFORMATION : MINI UNMANNED AIR VEHICLE

FOR INFANTRY

1. Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is desirous of procuring Mini

Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) for the Infantry. The desired Mini UAV should have
the following basic parameters:-

(a) Operating Altitude. Minimum 5,000 m above mean sea level for
launch and recovery and minimum 6,000 m above mean sea level for
operation.

(b) Operating Temperature. Minus 20 degree C to plus 55 degree C.

(c) Endurance. Minimum 120 minutes.

(d) Man Power. It should be operated by maximum three men.

(e) Pay Load. It should facilitate mission specific real time surveillance
during day and night over a limited area.

2. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)/Copy Right Holders are requested

to confirm that they can supply limited equipment with Transfer of Technology.

3. OEM/Copy Right Holders are also requested to confirm that if request for
Proposal (RFP) is issued by Ministry of Defence, Government of India vide Defence
Procurement Procedure (DPP)-2008 (www.mod.nic.in), it will be responded to.

4. Following parameters/specifications of OEM’s equipment is requested in the

responses to our request for information:-

(a) Airframe/platform characteristics and construction.

(b) Propulsion system.

(c) Aural/thermal signature.

(d) Ground Control System (GCS), its parameters and facilities including
portability and multi control capability specifying number of birds.

(e) Launch and recovery system.

(f) Variety of mission specific pay loads and their detailed capabilities.

(g) Navigation system and anti jamming measures.

(h) Frequency band of data link and number of UAVs that can be
incorporated for simultaneous operation.

(j) Flight programming system.

(k) Breakdown of weight of components/modules and complete equipment.

(l) Minimum, maximum and cruise speed.

(m) Deployability.

(n) Communication range and recovery facility during breakdown of

communication.

(o) Auto Pilot.

(p) Cross Wind limitation.

(q) Ranges and accuracy of Target Detection, Recognition, Identification

and Acquisition.

(r) Capability to operate in Built Up Area.

(s) Self Test Facility.

(t) Data communication facility.

(u) Time to deploy and respond to mission request.

(v) Accompanying/Compatible Simulators facility.

(w) Modus of recovery.

(x) Total No of launches in a life cycle.
