3. Psalms 14:1-3
1
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable
works, there is none that doeth good. 2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children
of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3 They are all gone aside,
they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4. Ecclesiastes 7:20
20
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
5. Job 15:14-17
14
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be
righteous? 15 Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
16
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
6. Matthew 19:17
17
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but
if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
7. Romans 7:18
18
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with
me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
8. Psalms 62:9
9
Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the
balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
9. Proverbs 20:9
9
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
When men say, “I don’t THINK God would do that;” here’s what He says:
1. Isaiah 55:8-9
8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my
thoughts than your thoughts.
2. Deuteronomy 32:39
39
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I
wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
3. Romans 13:1-2
1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the
powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the
ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
4. Romans 9:8-22
8
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the
children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise, At this
time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. 10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had
conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither
having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not
of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14 What shall we say then? Is there
unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom
I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it
is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the
scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might
shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him
that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of
the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? 22 What if God,
willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering
the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
