All fire protection and fire alarm work to be carried out by specialised company approved by local civil defence authority and subject to the satisfaction of the Engineer. All Fire Fighting Material shall be UL/FM approved and to be approved by the Civil Defence Authority prior to its use on the project, ‘The fire fighting system shall comprise the following: An automatic sprinkler system for the whole project. An automatic hosereel system will be provided. Hose Reels shall be permanently connected to a water supply and shall be of 25mm bore. FM 200 fire suppression system shall be provided for telecommunication rooms, HV and LV room. Foam system shall be provided for the generator room. A deluge (Water Spray Fixed System) sprinkler system shall be provided aver the LPG storage tanks. Dry sprinkler system shall be provided for cold rooms have a floor area exceeding 20m2 A Gire hydrant system distributed across the whole site. ‘Water storage tanks shall be underground and shall be shared withthe domestic water storage, with draw off points at appropriate Location so as to always ensure the fire water reserve is available. ‘The sprinkler system will interface with the Fire Alarm system of the appropriate building. The wiring of associated zone valves will be connected to the break glass loops of the main building fire alarm system, Al system connected hyrants and hose valves shall be pressure regulated. Hose racks and hose reels shall be pressure regulated. Fire dampers shall be installed in ductwork passing through slabs and fire zones, as shown on the drawings Portable fre extinguishers will be installed in various spaces as required. All wiring associated shall be linked to the Fire Alarm system of the building. 603 PIPES AND FITTINGS 6081 PIPEWORK All pipes shall be factory galvanized steel ERW-Sch.40 ASTM A53. 6.03.2. THREADED FITTINGS Fittings for 2 diameter and below shall be 300 psi Ductile Iron, & threaded, They shall be UL listed and FM approved. 6033 GROOVED FITTINGS Fittings 2-1/2" diameter and above shall be Ductile Iron mechanical grooved type. These fittings ‘shall be UL listed and FM approved with minimum working pressure of 300psi. 6.03.4 PIPEHANGERS All hangers shall be made of steel, Hangers shall be Galvanized and UL/FM approved, ‘The spacing of the hanger supports shall comply with NEPA requirement 6.04 FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE VALVES Al Fice protection service valves (Gate valve, Check valves & Butterfly valves) shall be from one source. 604.1 GATE VALVE Gate valve shall be O'8 & type or non-rinsing type as indicated inthe drawing. Sizes upto 2” and below shal] be threaded type. The valve body shall be cast bronze and wheel shall be cast iron. ‘The valve shall be UL. listed and rated for 175 psi working pressure. s 2-1/2" and above shall be cast Iron © S & Y / non-rising gate valves as and where indicated in the drawing. ‘The valve body shal be cast ron, ‘The valve shall be UL listed & FM approved and rated for 175 psi minimum working pressure 604.2 CHECK VALVE Check valves shall be swinging type or split clapper type with Hanged / grooved ends as required by the drawing. The valve body shall be cast iron. The valve shall be UL listed & FM approved and rate for 200 pst minimum Working pressure. 6.04.3. BUTTERFLY VALVE Buaterfy valves shall be wafer type / grooved type with tamper switch. The valve body shall be made of ductile Iron EPDM encapsulated / Nylon-11 coated. The valve shall be UL 1 approved and rated for 175 psi minimum working pressure 6.04.4 RESSURE REDUCING VALVE Use class 150 / 250 / 300 pressure reducing valve, as per the drawing / requirements, where required. The body material shall be cast iron / cast steel as applicable. The valve shall be externally site adjustable. The dis seat / main dise piston shal be stainless steel.
