Nicola Tesla and Thomas Edison

Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison were two very different inventors. Nikola Tesla

and Thomas Edison started The Current War, or The Battle of the Currents. Tesla had

invented AC (alternating current), while Jefferson invented DC (direct current). In this

essay I will be on Nikola Tesla’s side and you will soon see why.

Nikola Tesla was an electrical genius who invented AC, the Tesla Coil, the

remote control, the Violet Ray, the Tesla valve, the vacuum variable capacitator, the

induction motor, three-phase electric power, the neon lamp, and wireless telegraphy. As

you can see he invented a lot of stuff and was very smart. Out of all of these inventions,

AC is probably the most important one, because almost every electrical item in the

world today uses AC.

Thomas Edison was a business man and inventor who was not like Tesla

because he didn’t care about if his factories were eco-friendly or not, all he cared about

how much money he made. He also went to school for only three months and did not

attend college. He was self-taught and went deaf from a combination of scarlet fever,

multiple ear-infections, and being slapped by an angry train conductor.
