Creative Photography Category

Genre Category Submission Requirements

Creative Open Category You may take creative shots of People in their
Photography lives at work or at their workplaces from ANY
INDUSTRY. Your entry should explore the
relationship between workers and the workplace
risks that they have to face every day.

Participants can select a style of photography:


*Photojournalism ,
* Experimental Photography or
* Fine Art Photography

Photograph can be taken in colour or black and


white.

Submitted photograph MUST BE in 8R (8”x10”) or


S8R (8”x12”).

Photograph submitted must have a minimum


resolution of 2000x3000 pixels (jpg or tiff).

Each participant is allowed to submit more than


1 entry. Entry must be submitted in hardcopy via
postal mail or hand delivered.

Completed art work is to be mounted on mounting


board.

Hardcopy submission MUST BE accompanied with


a completed entry form together with a CD of your
artwork.
Softcopy digital image should be tagged according
to your name, followed by your NRIC number and
the photograph number. (e.g.
LucasGoh_1234567A_01)

Entries will be judged on originality; creativity


and clarity of pictorial interpretation in bringing
across the message of workplace safety and
health.

Previously entered works cannot be re-submitted


for this year’s contest.

Assessment Criteria

a) Originality 50%

b) Content and Creativity 30%

c) Clarity of pictorial interpretation 20%

TITLE
A title of your entry is required on the application form before submitting your work to us.

RATIONALE
You are also required to pen down your rationale to support your entry.

The deadline for submission is Monday 21 March 2016.

Winners will be announced during a prize presentation ceremony in April 2016.

* Photojournalism is a form of journalism that creates still images in order to tell a news story.

* Experimental Photography refers to image manipulation, retouching and digital enhancement effects to
the original photos and using various types of printing methods to the photographs. It is also refers to
using beyond the realm of straight film or digital photography.

* Fine Art Photography is work created with a creative vision, to articulate an impression, a feeling about,
or relationship with the world by the photographer as artist.
