to make an object come flying to
you.

Alohomora: Charm that unlocks

doors.

Colloportus: Charm that seals

doors.

Confundus: Charm that confuses or

disorients its victim.

Diffindo: Charm that cuts

something open.

Engorgio: Charm that makes

something grow in size.
Evanesco: Vanishing Spell.
Makes things vanish completely (not
just become invisible).

Expecto Patronum: Patronus

Charm. Conjures a Patronus, a
phantom shape which drives away
dementors.

Expelliarmus: Disarming Spell.

Causes opponent’s weapon or wand
to fly out of his or her hand.

Expungeo: Erasing Charm.

Erases unwanted text or writing.

Finite, finite incantatum: Stops

currently operating spell effects.
Furnunculus: Curse that causes
boils to break out all over the
victim.
Impedimenta: Impediment Jinx.
Stops an object or slows it down.
Impervius: Makes something water-
proof or water repellent.
Incendio: Starts a fire.
Lumos: Makes a small beam of
light at the tip of the wand.
Muffliato: fills the ears of nearby
persons with a buzzing sound so
they cannot overhear your
conversations.
Nox: Turns off the light from a
Lumos charm.
Obliviate: Memory Charm.
Modifies or erases portions of a
person’s memory.
Orchideous: Conjures a bouquet of
flowers out of the end of a wand.
Petrificus Totalus: Body Bind
Curse. Turns entire body of
victim rigid.
Reparo: Repairs damage to an
object.
Rictusempre: Tickling Charm.
Causes a person to laugh
uncontrollably.

Tergeo: Cleans a person or object.

Waddiwasi: Shoots a wad of gum

out of a keyhole. Handy if you
have mischievous poltergeists putting
gum in your keyholes.

Wingardium Leviosa: Levitation

Charm. Makes objects float up in
the air.
Riddukulus: Boggart Banishing
Spell. A simple charm that
requires the caster to picture his or
her worst fear in an amusing form
while reciting the incantation. When
performed correctly, the boggart will
take on an appearance which will
inspire laughter that forms an
effective defense against the
creature.

Silencio: Silencing Charm.

Magically silences the target of the
spell.

Stupefy: Stunning Spell. Knocks

out the target of the spell.

Tarantallegra: Forces the victim’s

legs to do a crazy dance.
