First report
In the present report, the selected topic is detailed and information about "the importance of hydration
in workers exposed at high temperatures".
Working at high temperatures increases the level of dehydration by sweating , When the worker wears
heavy clothing, protective elements closed and exposed to high temperatures, the worker can lose 2 or 3
liters of sweat. the amount of liquid lost in large quantities must be recovered; if it is not recovered, it
could cause death. Workers exposed to high temperatures should be informed about the correct
hydration to avoid the problems of dehydration
Water consumption is important, but it should also be recommended to consume adequate food to
recover sodium and electrolytes important for body functions that were lost in sweat. If it is not possible
to consume food to recover the sodium and electrolytes lost, the consumption of electrolytic drinks
should be recommended. A low sodium in the body is called hyponatremia, this hyponatremia can
generate different symptoms such as confusion, sickness, headaches and the potentially fatal outcome of
cerebral oedema.
There are some methods to identify if there is a good or bad hydration such as the color of urine.
3 CONCLUSION
A worker exposed to high temperatures, with symptoms of dehydration, may not work safely.
