Water-Based Epoxy Coating

DESCRIPTION TYPICAL PROPERTIES

EPOCOTE WB is a water dispersible epoxy coating for
the coating of floors and walls and is designed to be Property Value
user and environmentally friendly, containing no Colour Grey, Red, (any BS4800 or

Chemical Resistance: Excellent resistance to dilute acids
and alkalis, oil, petrol, diesel, vegetable oils. Specific
advice can be provided by our technical department.
PROCEDURE
Surface Preparation: Concrete shall be a minimum of 21
days old and the residual moisture content shall be
below 6 %. Ensure that the concrete is clean and free
from dust, laitance, grease, oil, curing compound, and
existing paint finishes etc. Blow holes and defective
compound, eg. Eponite GP. Suitable mechanical
treatment such as vacuum grit blasting, is the preferred
method prior to application, as this ensures a good
mechanical key. Steel surfaces shall be shot blasted to a
nominal Sa 2.5 Swedish standard. All dust and grease
shall be removed prior to coating application. If a delay
is likely between blasting and application then it is
recommended that the steel is primed to obviate flash
rusting.
