Environmental Engineering at Uttara University, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I am contacting you because I am planning to attend graduate school in Western University, with a
focus on Structural Engineering. My research interests are in the area of Structural Dynamics, Wind
and Earthquake Engineering.
I have visited the research areas that Western University offers. From your web page, I noticed that
you are conducting research in areas of Structural dynamics, Response of structures to seismic and
wind loading which are similar as my research interests. I do also have two publications in these
areas. I would like to work more on related fields in future.
I would like to apply to the Western University for the summer 2017session. It would be really nice

Take my heartiest greetings at first. I am X from Bangladesh. I have completed my BSc in
Mechanical Engineering in October, 2012 from X University of Engineering & Technology. I am very
much interested to join your research group as I found your research to be well-suited to my
interest, as I have fascination about alternate energy research and I have found that you are looking
for graduate students. I have been actively involved in research during my undergraduate in the
field of Renewable Energy and worked with Dr. Nurun Nabi, Professor Emeritus and Ex-Dean of
Mechanical Department of X university.

My research experiences include the undergraduate thesis project on Conversion of palm oil to
biodiesel & preparing heterogeneous catalyst from waste eggshells under Dr. Nurun Nabi.
Though I have only a Bachelor's Degree, I have greater aptitude for learning and comprehension of

among the top 12% in University Admission Placement test among selected 5000+ candidates
