1. Tell me about yourself?


I am a hardworking and self-motivated person who has complete faith in my
abilities and skills .With a Masters Degree in VLSI from Clemson University and
strong technical background in circuit design and Semiconductor device physics I
believe I all have the opportunity to do a job, which I would love to do any day.

2. What are your greatest Strengths?


My greatest strengths I would say would my enthusiasm coupled with positive
attitude and my dedication to work. My willingness to do that extra bit to achieve
excellence. I also have proven record of being a good team player and a leader.

3. What is your greatest weakness?


At times I tend to plan to do more than what could possible be done over a period
time and kind of get disappointed with myself. Working around that by trying to
be more precise in my planning and I am doing perfect now.

5. What contribution can you make at Intel?
I would bring solid technical skills and a good work ethic to the assignment. I’ am
prepared to work around the clock during critical situations like “tape-out”. I will
do my best to directly or indirectly help in solving the customer’s problems.
Having been exposed to a diverse multicultural environment during my graduate
studies, I feel that I will be easily able to fit into a team and work effectively as
part of a group designing and testing innovative products. Therefore, I sincerely
feel I am very good fit for this particular job and I can make a significant
contribution at Intel.

7. Aren’t you over qualified for this position?


Because of my strong expertise, I could start to contribute right away, perhaps
much faster than someone who’d have to be brought along more slowly. From my
side, there are strong benefits, as well. Right now, I am unemployed. I want to
work, very much, and the position you have here is exactly what I love to do and
am best at. I’ll be happy doing this work and that’s what matters most to me, a lot
more that money or title.

8. Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?


In terms of my future career path, I’m confident that if I do my work with
excellence, opportunities will inevitable open up for me. It’s always been that
way in my career, and I’m confident I’ll have similar opportunities here and I
hope to grab them and hope to be in a top technical position.
9. Describe your ideal company, Job and location?
The ideal job for me would be design engineer as this is what I have been aspiring
to be and all my projects have laid emphasis on that and that this what this job
also offers me. My ideal company I would saw would be a company where
opportunities for learning and growth are there and the work culture is good.
Having read Intel’s core mission and values, I would def say Intel Corporation is
my ideal firm. As far as location goes, I would say I am not particular about that, I
just need a place where I can be focused and work.

10. What are your career options right now?


My career options I would say are limited because of limited time I can stay in the
US legally. Building my network of ppl in the industry and am hoping to get
interviews. If at all I do not make a job here, going back to India after few months
would be a career option. However, am keen to work here in this work culture and
in particular the work culture her at Intel

11. Why have you been out of work for so long?


Well, I graduated in December, thought I had to be technically well prepared to
do well in interviews. Spent 3 to 4 months studying. Build up my network at the
same time and this is my first on site chance to show my technical competency

14. How do you feel reporting to a younger person?


I have no problems at all. Younger or older, the company has recognized the
persons effort and contribution and that he is why he is in a senior position and I
will no probs reporting to a younger person.

15. Would you lie for the company?


I shall not do anything that would hurt the company. But if absolutely needed I
might not lie and I feel personal integrity is very important for me.

16. Looking back in life , what would you have done differently?
Its been a good life so far and every experience in life has its lesson and guess
plenty more is in store. I would not have changed a thing. I am happy with what I
am and I don’t regret it
17. Can you work under pressure?
Yes .Absolutely I can. Having done 4 courses for 2 semesters, I think I can cope
up with it.

18. What makes you angry?


Over the past, when people show lack of commitment I tend to get angry.

19. Who has inspired you in life and why?


20. What was the toughest decision you have ever had to make?
The toughest decision which I has to make would probably was whether to pursue
a job in India or come to the US for Masters.I was set in doing a Masters in VLSI
but couple of years back it was very difficult to get funding for your degree.
Spending money from ows own pocket was hell of a lot difficult thing. So I really
had to back my trust that I would come here..work hard in my degree and doa
good job and hope to get funding from my prodf. It all clicked for me and I am
really happy making the right call at that time.

21. What changes would you make if you were given the power?
I will take a hard look at everything the company and my group is doing and talk
to every single person in my group before I actually make any recommendation

22. Are you willing to relocate?


Yes .I am

23. How do you feel about working in night and week ends?
If my presence is required , I am ready to do it.

24. I am concerned you do not have much experience in XYZ?


Since this position is a circuit design position, I believe with all my technical
knowledge, experience which I did gain by doing the design projects and my
ability to apply all the theoretical knowledge practically in circuit design would
help do a real good job in this position. I have focused on these aspects off late
and C is something which I did learn in bit in Undergrad days and am sure I can
learn it if required within a short period of time.

25. Have you fired ppl before and do you have the fire in the stomach to do it?
I have not done that till now. But if I have the authority to take such a decision,
then I must also have the authority to hire ppl. So I would do godd job about that
and even after then, the person seems to very negative and hampers the morale of
the entire team and the based on the recommendations of my co-workers I would
act necessarily.

26. How could you have improved your career progress?


All is fine. Completed schooling, got my B.E degree and then came over for a
Masters and yea it is fine. May be landing a job much sooner could have been
some improvements. But I believe patience always pays off and I have been
patient with my job search and at the same time focused

27. What would you say to your boss if he is crazy about the situation but you
feel the idea stinks?
I would first tell me what I feel about his idea in a polite manner and explain the
reason why I think so. Irrespective of whether he is is convinced or not I will
request him to take in the view of a third person or a may be four. Just to know as
to what they feel so that the correct decision can be made in the best interest of
the company

28. Ideal job/manager/ executive in community/ company?


The ideal job for me would be a design engineer which is exatly what this
position offers me. Lead role/ serving the community/ contributing to the growth
of technology

29. Give me an example of your creativity?


The second semester of my Masters I think I was creative in utilizing time during
my last 2 weeks of classes. The going was really getting tough and apart keeping
the momentum I had to make sure time, which I spent, was useful, effective and
creative. I put lot of thought in what to prepare and how to attack and which
required most attention and which required least attention and did a good job
about it.

30. Where could you do some improvement?


I am a hardware person. I have not had the opportunity to learn stuffs in software.
So I am def going to sharpen my programming skills as I feel there is lots of new
things which one can learn in his life time and I want to do that widen my skill
set.

31. What do you worry about?


Honestly, there is no point in worrying and helps no one. I have my goals clearly
set and work towards them and if something goes wrong, I will break down the
situation and analyze what went wrong and what could have done better so that
the goal could have been achieved. Spending time reassessing the situation is
better than worrying.

32. How many hours a week do you normally work?


I do not keep a track of it. I know I am hard worker and I can put in long effective
hours if required

33. What is the most difficult part of being a circuit design engineer?
The most difficult part of being a circuit design engineer is performing under
pressure during the tape-out situation. I would love to take up that challenge and
am looking forward to it.

34. The hypothetical problem?


Instead, describe the rational, methodical process you would follow in analyzing
this problem, who you would consult with, generating possible solutions,
choosing the best course of action, and monitoring the results.

35. What is the toughest challenge you have had?


Finding a job in my field has been the toughest job which I have had. Seven
months is def not a short time my focus, patience, faith and courage has kept me
in good stead and most def my strong technical background

36. Have you dreamed of starting your business?


Frankly no. I have never thought about such a thing. A technical job in my field is
what I have thought of.

37. What are your goals?


My goal is to be an expert in the vast field of semiconductors. I hope to come up
with innovative idea, file patents, and boost the company’s intellectual property
thereby growing into a top technical person within the company.

38. What do you look for when you hire ppl?


His qualifications. His motivation and how good a team player is he.

39. How much money are you seeking?


60,000$ is a suitable amount of compensation I am seeking. However since this
will be my first job opportunities for growth and learning are more important that
base pay.

40. What is the toughest part of your student life?


Coping with the demands of four courses

41. If you won a lottery, would you still work?


After I floated down from cloud nine, I think I would still hold my basic belief
that achievement and purposeful work are essential to a happy, productive life

42. How do you define success?


It is basically a progressive realization of a long time worthy goal.. I could def
consider myself successful .I have really done everything which would lead to my
career goal
