Motion: THW legalize abortion

In status quo (present condition), in many countries where abortion is not legal, the rate of mortality due to abortion practice is extremely high. Two out of 8
women in Indonesia who conducted abortion died, and more are permanently suffered serious health problems such as continous bleeding, infections, womb
obstruction, etc.

Motion: THW legalize abortion

the above problems are caused by 1) the absence of information about safe abortion procedures so women choose dangerous methods without knowing it. 2) There
is no safe facility or standardized practitioners so women often trapped in using the shaman services with all risks. 3) The shaman/ non-standard practitioners also
are not encouraged to increase the quality of the service because there is no clear sanction if they harm the patients. So they practice abortion ignorantly. The
absence of information and standardized procedures are caused by no regulation by the government about abortion practice.

Motion: THW legalize abortion

Because of the above absence of information, non standardized procedure of abortion and ignorant abortion practitioners are caused by no regulation by
government, we believe that government should legalize abortion to solve the cause of the problems. What we mean with legalizing is government regulates the
practice of abortion and produce standard procedure of abortion by official service providers such as doctors and hospitals. The abortion that we mean here is any
abortion below 7 months, because any abortion above 7 months is very risky. The reason of abortion can be varied, but we will legalize them all in order to ensure
the protection of the women.

Motion: THW legalize abortion

The objective of our proposal is simple, which is to add more protection to women or to reduce the malpractice conducted in abortion case instead of to eliminate
thoroughly the illegal practice of abortion.

Motion: THBT financial earning through sex is justifiable

Essentially the right of welfare is the basic right that should be able to be enjoyed by everyone, and it should be the obligation of the government to provide that.
But unfortunately not everyone can afford to attain the right of welfare because some of them do not have any job that can make them have sufficient income to
sustain their life or even if they had a job unfortunately the income that they got from that job is not even adequate to give them the expected amount of welfare. If
this condition still continued it will only going to give a strong indicator toward the incapability of the government in providing an equal distribution right of
welfare to all of citizen.

Motion: THBT financial earning through sex is justifiable

Fundamentally this discrepancy of welfare happens because some of citizens do not have the expected amount of intellectual capacity nor educational background
required to apply to any work places. For some men who do not have any education or skill or intellectual capacity, then they choose to utilize the only capacity
that they have which is their physical capacity by becoming a labor or construction worker so that they can have a financial earning by maximalizing their physical
potential. And this effort is acknowledged and respected by the society. Now when we are talking about women of course the capacity that would be proportional
for women cannot be generalized like what men has, if the physical capacity of men is their muscle and strength then the physical capacity of women is their
beauty. But unfortunately, for some women who face the same situation of not having any educational background and skill or intellectual capacity, they would
find it hard and would find some difficulties and obstacles to utilize their physical capacity that they have, which is their beauty, for example by becoming a
prostitution worker. Because when they use that beauty capacity to earn financial income, then the society will not acknowledge and respect them because the
society have a strong stigma and negative prejudice toward women who utilize their physical potential to earn financial income. This society stigma toward the
prostitution activity happens because they believe if this prostitution activity will be only creating significant harm, not only to the society who go to prostitution
places but also to women who do the prostitution activity. This society’s concern happened because the society did not see any official or clear regulation from the
government that can guarantee the protection and the wellbeing of the prostitution workers and the society who are involved in the prostitution activity.

Motion: THBT financial earning through sex is justifiable

What we mean by legalizing prostitution is, the government should have a full control and supervision toward the prostitution activity and every stakeholder who
would be involved in the implementation of prostitution activity. 1st) By making a regulation of wearing protection to ensure the safety of the prostitution workers
and the customers during the prostitution activity, 2nd) A weekly or monthly medical checkup and even health care coverage should also be done and provided by
the government for the prostitution workers to ensure their wellbeing, 3rd) An identity check should also be done to ensure that there is no underage girl who
become a prostitution worker and to eliminate the number of human trafficking activity toward underage girl as well, 4 th)and to even make this regulation become
stronger, the government should criminalize the owner of the prostitution house and close that prostitution house if the government found out the owner of the
prostitution house broke the regulation and violated the basic right of the prostitution workers and the customers.

Motion: THBT financial earning through sex is justifiable

The objective of our proposal is to provide more protection to women who become a prostitution worker so that they can get their basic right of welfare and so that
they can sustain their daily life and their family’s life.

Motion: THW require police officers to always wear surveillance cameras while on duty
In the current status quo is happening big distrust coming from society towards police officers accountability, society started to question officers’ accuracy and
accountability. We take the example of Michael Brown’s shooting that happened in Ferguson, USA on the 9th of August by officer Darren Wilson. Society
believes that what the officer has done is backlashing with the code of conduct of taking the life of individual by shooting, because Brown already gave up. While
in the side of officer it is believed that Brown has done massive counter-attack to the police.

Motion: THW require police officers to always wear surveillance cameras while on duty
The problem is that there’s no proof which side is correct, and why what the officer has done is a justified action in this matter.

Motion: THW require police officers to always wear surveillance cameras while on duty
Today’s debate would happen in general countries, for example but not limited to United States of America,

and this debate would be about whether police officers should utilize surveillance cameras on duty in order to provide maximum accuracy to provide the best
security system for society, as a helping tool to proof that officers is following the working ethic code and code of conduct.

We propose that there would be socialization for society and officers that all police officers would wear surveillance cameras while on duty. Second, we only
allow the access to this camera only for professional significance.

Motion: THW require police officers to always wear surveillance cameras while on duty
Standing as team proposition what we’re going to prove is that status quo mechanism isn’t adequate enough to ensure that officers has done the right working ethic
code and code of conduct, therefore we need to implement this policy.

Motion: THBT western liberal democratic states should only send female ambassadors to nations with poor record of women's rights
Upholding women’s right has always been one of the biggest interests of liberal democratic country, because upholding women’s right also means upholding
human right. We’re seeing massive progress in some countries, women’s rights are already being protected by the law. But, sadly, in some other countries, million
women are still suffering from being assaulted, undermined, and underappreciated in their life.

Motion: THBT western liberal democratic states should only send female ambassadors to nations with poor record of women's rights
And most of western liberal democratic countries just sit back and let it happen, but letting it happens is just an ignorant stance. Therefore, today, team proposition
stands for women’s right.
Motion: THBT western liberal democratic states should only send female ambassadors to nations with poor record of women's rights
Today’s debate would be about whether as western liberal democratic countries, for example but not limited to United States and United Kingdom should only
send female ambassadors to nations which have poor record of women’s right, for example but not limited to the Holy See, Iran, Somalia and Sudan. We’re talking
about sending female nation’s representatives to countries which still not concerning upon women’s education, we’re talking about sending UK’s representatives
to democratic Republic of Congo which 3 millions of women have to live in fear of being brutally raped. So we define poor record of women’s right as lacking of
supporting system to uphold women’s right.

Motion: THBT western liberal democratic states should only send female ambassadors to nations with poor record of women's rights
We propose that we would only send female ambassadors to these countries with poor record of women’s right. It is important to be noted down, that this is a
value judgment debate, we’re going to talk about why these countries who have succeeded in ensuring women’s right have moral obligation upon this, and why it
would bring a lot of benefits.

Motion: THW ban smoking

A.1.1. Basic principle (what basic right that should have been able to be enjoyed by stake holders in this motion, but what makes them unable to enjoy that)
Essentially every individual is entitled to enjoy the basic right of welfare in the term of health, but unfortunately not every individual is able to enjoy the basic right
over health because of their decision to still choose doing certain personal choice activity that causes them to get certain significant harm toward their basic right.
A.1.2. The problems
Related to that principle, it has been being a sad general knowledge that every year the number of casualty of dead because of smoking activity like cancer, heart
attack, and failure of pregnancy keeps on increasing. Those serious diseases that are related to smoking activity are not only taking away the society’s right over
health but even their basic right over their precious life.
A.1.3. The government (authority) effort to solve the problem, its purpose and why it is still failed
It’s not like the government in the status quo didn’t do something about it, the government has already done several preventive and limitation efforts like; giving
warning and education to inform the society about the dangerousness of smoking, increasing the tax of cigarette and giving regulation of smoking room or
smoking in certain public places like in mall, hospital, but all of government efforts in the status quo to reduce the number of casualty because of smoking activity
have been proven failed and ineffective to decrease the number of casualty that happen because of smoking activity.

Motion: THW ban smoking

All of those casualties still happen because the government in the status quo still makes regulation to allow the society to choose personal choice of smoking that
makes the society still being exposed with cigarette and all of its dangerous substance. So there is no consistency with all of government’s efforts to reduce the
casualties because of smoking activity with government’s regulation to still allow people to still choose doing smoking activity freely. Human life is very precious
and valuable that’s why we should do something immediately to solve this. That’s why we should ban smoking as a faster and immediate solution.

Motion: THW ban smoking

What we mean by banning smoking in here is we are going to illegalize smoking, it means every perpetrator of smoking will get punishment by the government in
the form of 3 months jail punishment if they do smoking activity.

Motion: THW ban smoking

The objective of this motion is to provide the basic right of health and life for the society

Motion: THBT beauty peagant should be banned

It puts a woman in a position as an object and to be valued based on their appearance. Furthermore, the contest is aimed to be a commercial business, thus the
contestants are positioned to be a commodity.

Motion: THBT beauty peagant should be banned

Since it becomes an arena of women objectification as well as a business commodity, thus the contest degrades women.

Motion: THBT beauty peagant should be banned

Miss Universe contest degrades women.

Motion: THBT beauty peagant should be banned

The adjudication process are 80% based on “beauty skill” while the “brain” session is only additional and the questions can be answered by elementary school
students, like “what will you do if you are a president?” While during the contest season, the event organizer open up many gamble sites to bet on who is going to
win and gain more than 2 billions US$ dollar in 2006 only.

Motion: THW say no for women quota in the parliament

Nowadays there is still a strong stigma in society believing that women are inferior to men and has less capability than men. Reserved seats in the parliament will
only strengthen the paradigm that women can only sit in the parliament if they are facilitated but not because they can equally compete with men. Thus justifying
the wrong perception that women could not reach the same level as men unless given privilege.

Motion: THW say no for women quota in the parliament

Quota will only strengthen the stigma in society that undermines women.

Motion: THW say no for women quota in the parliament

Thus, quota for women in parliament will only strengthen the negative perception that undermines women, hindering the promotion of women being equal to men.

In Uganda, public opinion that does not go in favor of women increased rapidly after the implementation of this kind of quota (this was also supported by some
