On June 26, 2015, The US supreme court approved the right of gay marriage to be legal

in all the 50 states. Only some states accept the rights. The states who don’t remain to keep it that

way no matter if the supreme court says it’s a right by the constitution. Gay marriage is a very

debatable topic some people say gay marriage should be legal others say it should be illegal. Gay

marriage should be legal because same-sex couples should have access to the same benefits

enjoyed by heterosexual married couples, Secondly, gay marriage should also be legal because

marriage is an internationally recognized human right for all people, Lastly, gay couples have the

ability to help with the issue of adoption. For these reasons gay marriage should be legal in the

united states.

Gay marriage should have the same benefits enjoyed by heterosexual married couples. For

example, the benefit with heterosexual married couples have the right to take care of their spouse

if they’re married. For instance, in the article “Marriage Rights and Benefits” it states “Taking

family leave to care for your spouse during an illness.” Gay marriage is not legal and gay

couple’s don’t have that same benefit to be able to help each other without getting married while

heterosexual married couples get the benefit. Gay couples deserve that same right because they

love each other like ordinary people do and not being able to be by their loved ones is

heartbreaking to help them get through their illness they are going through.

Gay marriage should also be legal because marriage is an internationally recognized human

right for all people. Everyone has rights to be able to do what makes them happy if it’s legal by
law. An example would be in “SCOTUS,It’s time for Marriage Equality” it follows “Without

equality, certain people are more likely to be viewed as “less than” others, opening doors to

further discrimination…. Love is a (human) right, not a wrong and protecting the rights of

same-sex couples in the U.S. is a step towards recognizing that fact.” Gay marriage is being able

to love each other no matter what because marriage is the start of a new chapter in your life and

is given as a right to marry whomever you desire because you want them in your lives forever

and shouldn’t be fair how gay couples aren’t able to marry someone because they are the same

gender it’s the love that matters there is only one certain kind of love and it’s for everyone to

enjoy not just for only certain people.

Gay couples have the ability to help with the issue of adoption. Since gay couples aren’t able

to have kids they still want that same opportunity of having a kid to have a family. In the article

“Lifelong Adoptions” it reads “More than 16,000 same-sex couples are raising an estimated

22,000 adopted children in the United States.2” People believe that kids should be raised by a

male and female together when adoption numbers are increasing because more gay couples want

kids and those kids need homes/family’s which are beneficial for adoption as gay marriage

increases so does adoption in order to help benefit each other. Every kid deserves a new

beginning in their life when they are adopted with parents that are gay because all they want is to

be happy.

Some say Gay marriage should be illegal because it goes against the religion. Many

people have different beliefs and those beliefs exclude the right to be able to marry with the same

sex. In the article “Religion and Morality in the Same-Sex Marriage Debate” reads as follow “To

say these arguments for marriage are not religious in nature is not to disparage the important
place of faith and morality in public life or the higher law foundation of moral truth.” Going

against religion is a very huge impact in change and is morally wrong to do so certain people

take beliefs and religion so serious that it can lead to consequences which is better not to get

married with the same gender.

Gay marriage is a huge issue many people get bothered because they don’t find it normal at

all. Negativity comes when two of the same genders are together, when all people want is peace

and harmony when everyday people get judged by their choices when we all deserve the same

exact respect as a regular couple would because people are free to do what they want to do in

order to please them. A way the problem can be solved is by letting people talk all their

negativity because people aren’t worth the time to argue over a choice you choose to do and

committed to go through. Equality is something everyone should deserve no matter

race,culture,gender everyone is human. In which gay marriage should be legal because same-sex

couples should have access to the same benefits enjoyed by heterosexual married couples,

marriage is an internationally recognized human right for all people, Lastly, gay couples have the

ability to help with the issue of adoption. Gay marriage is a choice people do in order to show

what fits them as people to show what makes them happy through love and equality should not

be fought it should be solved in order to bring peace to all humanity.
