Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SVDP Society - What do we do? - We
help our needy neighbours that live within
the boundaries of St. Helen. All calls are
screened and a home visit is arranged
with two members attending.
How are we supported? - The poor box
in the vestibule of the church is our main means of
support. A cheque made out to St. Helen St. Vincent
de Paul can be dropped in the poor box or the Sun-
day collection. There are also St. Vincent de Paul
envelopes available for cash donations. Interested
in joining us, call Lorraine at 905-563-7043.
Canadian Tire Money
We continue to collect Canadian Tire
money to purchase raffle prizes for fund-
raising events. It can be brought to the
office or in the collection basket.
Collection this Weekend
Join us for the next CWL Potluck & Meet-
ing on Tuesday June 5th at 6:30 p.m.
Please note, since the clergy are on re-
treat, there will not be a 6:30 p.m. mass that even-
ing. Our Potluck supper will begin at 6:30 p.m. in
the parish hall with a social and a very brief meeting
to pass motions.

SVDP North of 60 Thank You
Once again St. Helen SVDP say a huge thank you to
our parish family for your generous support of our
North of 60 project. All the churches in the Niagara
region helped fill TWO sea containers this year!
They will be leaving soon and arriving early Novem-
ber in Naujaat. Fr. Daniel and the whole community
are so excited awaiting its arrival.
Parish Survey Next Weekend
Bishop Bergie has asked that every parish in the Di-
ocese of St. Catharines enter into a parish discern-
ment process. Currently St. Helen’s Church parish
discernment team have attended two meetings with
Bishop Bergie and parish reps from the Haldimand
Deanery. As part of this process, we have been
asked to complete a diocesan survey next Sunday
during masses. After the brief homily, parishioners
will be invited to spend ten minutes in the church
during mass to complete the survey. Pencils will be
provided.

you, carrying a jar of water. Follow him.”
Was there only one person carrying a
jar of water in the city that day as they
prepared to eat the Passover meal?
The disciples and the man didn’t even
seem to have a conversation. They just follow him.
What might this strange detail of Jesus’ directive
suggest to us? If the man was a servant (probably) it
could remind us that servant leadership is often
more effective when expressed in actions rather
than just in words. Also, both the carrier of the jar
and the disciples are out in the city when they meet.

Separated and Divorced Healing Ministry
This month’s topics are ‘Forgiveness Heals, Dino
Sicoli presenter’, (June 11); and ‘Loving and Re-
specting Yourself’, (June 25). Meetings are 7 to 9
pm at Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre, 7020 Stanley

you can play guitar or

ministry is always open to newcomers. Speak to a
member after Mass or call the office. You’re wel-
come to come to a Wednesday night practice at 7
p.m. and see what its all about. This diverse group
is a great bunch and they have fun together. So
DON’T just think about it, ACT on it!
St. Helen Cleaning Ministry needs your help.
Can you volunteer 2 hours a month to help clean
the church? To join our dedicated team of men
and women who are responsible for keeping our
church looking so beautiful please contact the
parish office. With the understanding that our
team members have busy lives, it helps to have
many on the team to keep the load lighter when
shared by all. With summer approaching and va-
cations, we need your help. Can you give 2
hours a month?
Dear friends,
Monica Ling Lin is a world class singer and organ-
ist who has used her time and talent to enhance
many weddings and funerals at St. Helen’s Church
in Beamsville. Monica also trained and directed the
Choir for St. Helen’s Church Mass of Consecration
in 2015. Monica has used her time and talents over
the years to sing at many churches and help organi-
zations in their fundraising efforts.
Unfortunately life recently has thrown her several
devastating curves. Five years ago she lost her son
Aron to an invasive strep infection. Then last sum-
mer she lost her husband Jules to cancer. Then on
April 29 of this year her home was completely de-
stroyed by fire.
Her unwavering faith has given
her strength to endure these trage-
dies. There was insurance on the
house but sadly it is far short of the
replacement cost. So that is the rea-
son for this fundraiser. We ask you
to support her by financial donations
and by your friendship and prayers
to rebuild her home.

Spring Grounds Maintenance - June 16th
We’re looking for volunteers to come out and assist
with some spring lawn maintenance on June 16th.
Weeding, sweeping, planting etc is planned. Please
contact Craig Luey, (contact info on the front of the
bulletin) if you can help out. Thank you for your con-
sideration to this project.
June 10 - Collection for the Education of Semi-
narians and Clergy - The annual diocesan collec-
tion for the education of seminarians and clergy will
be next Sunday, June 10th. The funds raised will
help to educate seminarians studying for the priest-
hood and will provide for the ongoing theological for-
mation of priests. Please use the envelope in your
offertory box, or the envelope stapled to the bulletin.
