Waxing Kit
1 Ivory Opaque Sculpturing Wax
At the center of the color wheel, Ivory is mainly used as an opacifier and diluent
for the highly chromatized waxes to simulate opalescent effects. Use a heated
spatula to pick up a small quantity of a chromatized wax and place it on Ivory. Mix
the two waxes. Once the desired tone has been visually achieved, pick up the mix
and place it on the sculpture where the effect is desired.

2 Pink Opaque Sculpturing Wax

Pink may be used to simulate gingival tissue and to create incisal effect color.
Small amounts of Pink placed on the tips of the mammelons accentuate their
individuality and add vitality to the incisal zone.

3 Blue Sculpturing Wax

Intensify the translucency of the incisal portion of the sculpture with Blue
Sculpturing Wax. When combined with the Ivory Sculpturing Wax and added to
Translucent, Blue adds opalescence. It may also be added to gingival tissue
sculptures to lower their value and create an appearance of depth on the
interproximal papilla.

4 Translucent Sculpturing Wax

Use Translucent to simulate the natural appearance of incisal enamel.
Translucent separates the incisal from the gingival areas of the tooth sculpture,
details developmental lobes and highlights contact and cusp tip areas of posterior
crown sculptures.

5 Brown Sculpturing Wax

Used mainly for fossa definition, Brown Sculpturing Wax adds depth and detail to
the posterior fossae, as well as anterior lingual cingulum fossae. Use it to create
stained check lines, incisal discoloration, calcified lesions, tobacco or coffee
stains, and to highlight the cemento enamel junction separating the crown from
the root portion of a sculpture.

6 Tan Opaque Sculpturing Wax

Added to sculptured tooth in the area of the gingival one third, Tan simulates the
natural tooth's gingival color. It provides separation of the gingival and middle
third of the sculptured tooth form and can also be used to add depth to the lingual
cingulum area of an anterior sculpture, or to detail the center fossae of posterior
scultures.

7 Dentin Sculpturing Wax

Used to simulate dentin structure, Dentin Wax placed under the lingual
development lobes creates the appearance of depth, accentuating the lobes from
the lingual surface. Dentin Wax may also be used to create dentin reflection
through the incisal edge by placing a small amount on the lingual incisal.

8 Yellow Sculpturing Wax

Use this versatile wax to intensify gingival color, simulate root structure, highlight
lingual cingulum dentin, accent reflection of dentin showing through translucent
incisal, create interproximal shadowing, and highlight the occlusal fossae of
posterior crown sculptures.

9 Red Sculpturing Wax

The combination of Rep Sculpturing Wax and Pink Opaque simulates natural gum
tissue. It can also be blended into the Ivory Wax to add vitality to the sculptured
form.
 Esthetic Waxing
The Esthetic Waxing Kit has been created for the technician who wants
to prepare full form diagnostic wax-ups in lifelike natural tooth colors
and opacities. The selection of waxes in the segmented tin is used in
buildup and characterizing, allowing experimentation in relative color
balances, color densities and general contour before building porcelain.

The Esthetic Waxing Kit is also useful in training ceramists in

composition, color building and form.
