The Components of Computer

Nowadays, computer are used in many aspects, such as, education, economic, agriculture,
etc. computer divide into two parts, there are software and hardware. Software is the
collection of computer program and related data that provide the instruction telling a
computer what to do. And hardware is a component of a computer that is the nature of his
instrument can be seen and touched, which serves to support the process of computerization.
In this essay, I will description about hardware of computer. In general, hardware of
computer is divided into several sections. They are; CPU, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

First, CPU is one of the computer hardware. CPU or central processing unit is a device that
functions as a data processor. CPU contains a series of circuits that stores instructions and
data processing. Shape of CPU like a rectangle approximately 20 x 60 x 40 cm. Inside of the
CPU contains some critical components for processing data that will be displayed on the
monitor. For example, memory, ram, etc. Backsides of CPU, there are some slots as a plot to
connect the CPU to other hardware such as monitor.
Second, monitor is a tool that can display text or images from the data that is being
processed in the CPU. The shape of monitor like a cube. In front of monitor, there are a
screen and some buttons. This screen will display what has been processed on the CPU, the
size of the screen of monitor varies, usually around 14-20 inches. For example, when we
type some word from keyboard, monitor will be displayed it. And the function of the button
for control screen display. For example, button ON/OFF use to turn on and turn off
computer.

Third, keyboard is a tool to enter data or commands into the CPU. Shape of keyboard like
rectangular. Keyboard connected with CPU with a cable. Keyboard divides into five parts.
The first part is alphanumeric which contains some button such as alphabet A-Z. The second
part is numeric keypad which contains some button of number. The third part is called
function key such as ‘insert’, ‘delete’, ‘end’, etc. the fourth part is called modifier key, for
example, F1-F2. And the last one is called movement key that function as movement.
And the last, not only CPU, monitor and keyboard that support the process of
computerization but also mouse. Mouse is a tool to give commands in the processing of data
or edit data. This tool helps us to appoint want that on display. The shaped of mouse like the
real mouse and have a tail. His tail is a cable which connected core of the mouse with the
CPU.

In conclusion, from the description of computer hardware above, the computer hardware
such as CPU, monitor, keyboard, and mouse are interconnected so that it can produce an
output which is expected by users’ computer. And CPU is the main unit that connects
between the components it.
