With reference to the above, this is to bring to your kind information that, our
University is included in the list of Universities under Section 12 B of the UGC Act,
1956. A communication letter received from the UGC, New Delhi in this regard is
enclosed herewith for your information and reference.

Further, Pro-forma applying for recognition of colleges under section 2 (f) and
12 (b) of the UGCAct 1956 is also enclosed herewith foryour information and needful.

Subject: Proposal for inclusion in the list of Universities under Section 12 B of the
UGC Act, 1956.

Sir,

This has reference to the visit of the UGC's inspection Committee to the University
on 22-23'd July, 2017 to consider 12-B status ancl subsequent compliance submitted by the
University in respect of the observations/suggestions given by the UGC'd inspection
Committee. The report of the inspection Committee along with the compliance submitted
by the University was placed before Committee of UGC members for consideration. The
Committee recommended as under:-

"The Committee considered the report of the UGG's inspection Committee along with
the compliance submitted by the University.

The Gommittee decided to recommend approval of 12 B status to Visvesvaraya

Technological University (State University), Jnana Sangama, Belagavi-590018,
Karnataka.

The University is advised to get NAAC accreditation at the earliest."

The above recommendations of the Committee along with the Report of the UGC
inspection Committee were placed before the Commission in its 527th {ltem No. 1.02(aXi)}
held on 22.12.2017. The Commission considered and approved the recommendations of
the Cornmittee and the tiniversity is included in the list of Universities under Section 12 B of
the UGC Act, 1956.
