Rationale:

Dulag National High School, a leader school in the Division of Leyte is known not only for its culture
of academic excellence, but also for the musical talents and skills of its students and faculty. As a matter
of fact, the school choir has once joined the prestigious National Competition for Music Artists held at the
Divine Word University Auditorium. The school has also garnered major awards in solo, duet, dance and
choir categories in area, district and division competitions.

In the past, the school had its own Rondalla. The group existed only until _______ due to certain
reasons such as the change of curriculum which entailed long class hours that hindered the conduct of
regular rehearsals and secondly due to lack of a definite program to assure the continuity of its existence.
At present, there are only two existing groups in the school- the Chorale under the direction of Mr. Arvin
Costub and the Drum and Lyre Corp, the Teacher’s Violin Ensemble, all actively participating not only in
school events but also in cultural activities of the town of Dulag as well. This groups though extracurricular
