Hon. Severino Capulso, Mrs.

Arlene Calumpang, principal, members of the faculty

and staff, proud parents, graduates, friends, ladies and gentlemen good afternoon.

Looking at your faces, at this school, at the teachers, I realized that everything has
changed. I can still remember my younger days when i was still studying in this school. It
was called Bliss Primary School and now Sta. Catalina Science Elem. School. I will not
forget the beautiful memories i had here and to my former mentors ,special mention to
Maam Cherry(Grade 3)teacher and Maam Magno(4th Grade) who’s been a part of my
elementary formative year. And most of all,on this stage in which i’m standing right
now,mao pod ni ang lugar nga akong ginasakaan og ribbons.”I can still recall the
memories in which we always have fun and enjoyment together with my classmates.
Playing slipper kick, stickers, takyan and other Filipino games. Since gamay lang man ang
mga bata nga mo skwela sa una dire,so during that time,i told myself,”Kani, kay ma first
gud ko ani og makasaka kay gamay rami og ma himong leader sa mga activities”
When there were seatworks and quizzes,i always pass ahead of time. And it came to a
point that i asked my mother whose also a teacher in Sta. Catalina Academy school that
time,and i said”Ma,nganung si Maam,ako,lagi sige pa checkon sa among test papers.Usa
pasabot ana?And my mother said,”Ah kay bright man ka.”nalipay ko pero in my later days
i realized g-ulog-ulogan lang diay ko.:)But it’s okay, because it serves as my inspiration in
continuing my studies.I joined in some District contests and events too.:)I was awarded as
1st honor in 3rd grade and 2nd honor in 4th grade.:)
I was in Bayawan City East Central School during my 1st grade and 2nd Grade. I also
returned in Bayawan City Central School to proceed my 5th grade studies, eventhough i
don’t have awards in being the top ten in class since it’s so tough to compete in a big
school but i was awarded as Best in Talent(Singing)during Cab Scout and i’ve bet Mr.
Ronel Banua(grade 6)that time. This person is already in Arizona(HR Head in recruitment
agency of Bepauche International.)But then again,my parents have decided to transfer us
together with my brother in Dumaguete to continue our studies. My father(conductor)
decided to voluntarily resigned in Ceres and my mother also do voluntarily resignation as
a teacher.I finished my 6th grade in Cantil-e Elementary School in where we lived too.I
was also awarded as an honor student that time.

I finished my high school years in Junob High School and have been awarded as Service
Awardee(choir trainer, guitarist) from 2001-2005.I entered seminary in the year 2005-
2006.I graduated my College days in NORSU-BSC in 2010 and have been awarded as
Service Awardee (Choir Arranger,Conductor, pianist).I served the Community for almost 7
years as a teacher both private and public schools and rendered voluntarily services in
church events and gatherings as Music trainer and a Choir Conductor.Currently,i’m an
online Freelancer,Music Tutor and a Customer Service Rep in Zwerl,an online intelligent
platform app based in UK.
So let me speak to you now as someone speaking to another who is starting on the
most wonderful journey. But you have to listen, and you have to listen hard, because I
am going to tell you some of the secrets to success.
The first is HARD WORK.
What am I trying to say? The next years of your life will determine your future.Today is
not merely an end yet a beginning of a journey in fulfilling your dreams. Things won’t
always come easily to you. What is worth learning is worth working hard for. Find out
what you are good at, find out what you like to do. And then grow. Practice. Practice
some more. Because here is another secret – if you practice – You can be anything you
want to be. So do not be afraid. While you are at it, do not be afraid to fail. Sa mga
ginikanan, please support your child. Pipila katuig from now they will enter college,
support them on the course they want to take, not what you want them to become.
Let me also tell you more about failure. You all know Michael Jordan, right? He is the
greatest basketball player of all time. Michael Jordan missed more than 9,000 shots in his
career, lost almost 300 games, and missed 26 winning shots. He failed over and over and
over again. But that is why he is the greatest basketball player in the world.

The third is GRATITUDE.

We say it every day – “Thank you”. But we do not know how much power THANK YOU
has. When you appreciate people and events and the things you have in your life, the
whole universe jumps up and down and what it wants to do is to give you more. Try it.
Say thank you more often, say it with your every step, say it with your every prayer. You
will be amazed at the wonderful surprises it will give you.
The fourth secret is be HUMBLE.
Yes, you are smart. You are talented. You are athletic. You are a lot of great things. But so
are a lot of other people. Be humble about your accomplishments and be quick to
compliment others’ on theirs. You will be respected and appreciated by others for this
attitude.
The fifth is SMILE.
That one seems silly perhaps, but it is important. Maintaining a positive attitude – will go
a long way towards helping you to make new friends and feeling good about yourself.
You’ll be amazed at how much better the world looks – and how the world looks at you –
when you have a smile on your face.
The sixth is Be courteous and respectful.
Be courteous and respectful towards adults, towards your teachers, towards your peers,
towards yourself. Good manners and a respectful attitude will take you far in this world.
The last secret to success is for GOD.
God the power and source of all things. He is the reason why we are all here. He is your
stronghold here in the present and in the future. He is great. And he loves you more
than you know.
So let me end with my wish for all of you. In your life may you have people who will
listen and spend time with you, encourage you and believe in you. May you embrace
growth and excellence, may you be generous, may you remain humble, courteous and
respectful, may you say thank you often, may God watch over you. With this blessing,
may you go forth and do wonderful things. Again, my congratulations and god bless us
all.

Mag-aaral ng K to 12: Handa sa Hamon ng Buhay (K to 12 Learners: Ready to Face Life’s

Challenges)

Graduates, today is not an end, but a beginning of your journey. As you end up
your elementary education, you have been proved with knowledge and wisdom; however
it doesn’t end up with that. More changes towards the betterment of your lives are
offered by it.Tomorrow will be the beginning of one of the most wonderful, memorable,
exciting part of your lives.
Before I go further with my speech,I would like to congratulate the graduates of
this school year 2017-2018 for today marks the attainment of your dreams. Today is a

this moment because you have attained your victory. You have acquired the knowledge

Secondly, I want to congratulate you parents, for you are now harvesting the fruit
of your sacrifices. You have done a big part in moulding these children from their birth
until this very moment. You are the forerunners in the education of your children,
molding their behavior and characters, abilities and knowledge.
The next persons whom I would like to congratulate are of course the teachers.
You have successfully done great responsibilities in bringing these children to what they
are now. Your undying love, guidance and commitment to teach these children have
made great changes in their lives. We can say that they are now better persons because
of you.
