OBJECTIVES:

 To identify new Projects streams leading to a profitable turnaround for Terminal business and intermodal Rake
operations besides finding solutions for a business growth for existing operation.

 To Work on development of long term projects / capital business set up around port /terminal which can serve
as long term captive business with more business avenues.

 To be responsible for growth in cargo volume /cargo security through investments planned out in ICDs, CFS,
logistic parks, SEZs by strategic partners along with proposed capacity addition in existing port/terminals.

 To track the movement of liner /bulker vessels in port/terminal maritime route and offer them bundled
integrted logistics opportunities from network of ICDs, CFS, logistic parks, SEZs and FTWZ.

 To target at P&L, Revenue, EBIDTA and Pricing Management with revenue visibility through development of
projects, business network, optimization of operation metrics in services.

 Accomplished Commercial and Operation professional with cross industry experience in Intermodal and
Port/terminal business with demonstration of expertise in Business Development, Project Management.
 Experience in marine, port/terminals operations, projects, HSE (QMS, EMS AND OHSAS systems), engineering
(maintenance of terminal assets), processes & systems and efficiency & productivity.
 Successful professional in joint ventures and strategic alliances with logistics services partners for growth.
 Securing new business, maintaining and growing current accounts continuously upgrading the client mix to
achieve long-term revenue growth, managing of outstanding and setting foundation for on-going investment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY


• Responsible for developing Dry Bulk/Break Bulk/ Shipping liner base from Indian major and minor ports
including intermodal service efficiencies.
• Liaison with ICD, Shipping Lines, for business opportunities in the new and existing accounts.
• Responsible for business development with budgeted margins and Initiate sustainable relationships with new
and existing clients.
• Responsible for Account Receivables from Shipping Lines.
• Follow-up on Quotations Negotiate and Close deals and obtain customer feedback
• Performance of regular market surveys and gauge the market pulse and keep abreast with the moves of the
competition and Negotiation of contracts and service provision with potential customers.

 Planning and Executing large projects keeping all the stakeholders engaged in face of extremely tight deadlines
and challenging situations.
 Identifying strategies and action plan including for Rail and ICD business ventures to improve short term and
long-term sales and earnings.

freight arrangement.
 Following and interpreting railway circulars to regularize the commercial aspects effectively with Port Railway &
Indian Railway ensuring the smooth rake movement Ex. Port to different destinations.
 Involved in ESSAR Oils Petroleum proposed Product Storage Business Project (SEZ/DTA/Customs Bonded
Warehouse/FTWZ) at Vadinar and Ispat Dolvi’s proposed multi-product SEZ at Raigarh as per FTDR act.

through Kandla/Mundra Port Handling.
 To mitigate risk of rail transport(Rake) availability and mining operation Road cum Rail multimode mix was
utilized for 7(seven) multilocational railway sidings/Open Yard warehouses under 3 Rail Zones ECR, SER and
WCR, with sidings warehouse location and layout design along with material handing resources and operation
of total 1.5 lakh sq. ft for storage and outbound logistics .

 Regular updating of port terminal web portal with mention of traffic, cargo handled, waiting vessels, vessels
under discharge,/loading , productivity, highlights, development plans (Infrastructure, Facility & Technology),
Tariff and registered users access facility for feedback were made available.

 Leverage the strategic advantages of APSEZ in terms of ports at several strategic locations, SEZ, operational
efficiency to create competitive advantage.
 Attract new businesses in the existing 8 ports/terminals at Mundra, Tuna, Hazira, Dahej, Goa, Ennore, Vizag and
Dhamra which would increase the cargo through put exponentially in the long run with targeted top line and
EBITDA margins.
 Strategically successfully attempted bringing part of Surplus Coastal Coal Cargo from Paradeep Port (NTECL,
TANGENCO, APGNCO) on superior service utilization of surplus capacity of export terminal.
 Targeted at Zuari Agro, IFFCO , Corromondol Fertilizers, Tata Chemicals. Jai Shree Chemicals (Bangur) on NPK
fertilizer nutrients import including urea, DAP and marking port handling and bagging capacity( as per fertilizer
policy),covered storage area for prospective fertilize berth(2.5 MTPA initially) .
• Established customer base with long term committed volume off-take from key customers like Tata Steel, SAIL,
NTPC on annual basis, with negotiation there was 10% tariff increased and 20% cargo volume got scaled up Y-
o-Y, including multiport loading/unloading.

• Preparation of Master plan to develop Multiple Cargo terminal handling facility of more than 125 MMT and to
develop Dhamra as Eastern maritime Gateway across India-Nepal- Bangladesh -Myanmar .

Saving in freight 20% and saving in delivery time 40%.
 Monthly container export of 500 Nos TEUs Partnering DAMCO as freight forwarder through Vizag, Haldia and
Paradip terminals after inland drayage from cargo consolidation, customs at ICDs/CFS.
 Triangulation Triangulation (Reverse Logistics) Service : All Maersk line inward containers are used for export by
service provider/freight forwarder DAMCO. i.e. Import to Export Conversion over 100 TEUs. (20%)
ESSAR PORT .(BEIRA PORT, MOZAMBIQUE) ROLE DY GENERAL MANAGER (LOGISTICS)

 Specialized in Emerging Markets for setting up Green Field projects in Port terminal industry with on-site
experience in Africa’s challenging terrain.
 Enhanced company’s existing portfolio and financial growth by identifying profitable strategic business

PORT TERMINAL EXPERTISE.

 All stages of Green Field Port development – From site selection to Feasibility, Environment Impact Assessment
and Environment clearance for the project, Detailed Project Report, Concession Agreement with Authorities for
the development of Port infrastructure and facilities on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer model. Investment

 Evaluation of RFP for connection of nearby Vale terminal –T-8 through conveyor for cargo security and port
asset utilization of essar’s merry-go-round System and storage with take and pay arrangement .
 Discussion with Port terminal material handling international equipment suppliers like Leibherr, Gottwald
,Tenova ,Mantsinen, Telestack and Subtech Group.
 Neighbouring port( Beira Vale Terminal, Maputo, Richards Bay, Saldana, Cape-town from Port Operator
Transnet, South Africa ) terminal tariff were studied for comparison.
 Anchorage and Port channel Bathymetry study was done by Van-Hord and Assessment of port channel capacity
was done through DNV and Royal Haskoning .
 MoU and tripartite agreement along with state port and rail operator CFM and Coeclerici for off shore floating
transfer station (FTS) solution and Sula Shipping and Logistics for anchorage operation at Beira(MZ) high seas .
 Implementation and operationalization of NAVIS (TOS) across all Mozambique ports.
 Associated with Development of Tacoma port and preparation of feasibility report through M/s Metro ports in
the state of Washington(USA).Considering for a Export Port for ESSAR’s presence in North America and
export of Hematite product and Pellets to India.

 Assisted in Port of Algoma, Canada – Develop & Operation of Essar Group’s new 22 mmtpa Brownfield port

PORT OIL STORAGE TANKAGES BUSINESS SOLUTION : ESSAR OIL VADINAR PORT TERMINAL
 Offered Sea Borne Crude, White oil, lubricants Trades and Tankages Storage solutions at Vadinar to Global oil
traders like Vitol, Glencore , vopak, Trafigura, MOL with its advantage over competing Fujairah, Singapore,
Rotterdam etc and Regulations and with contango and normal backwardation effect.
LINER MANAGEMET AT ESSAR
 1500 no of TEUs were moved through JNPT Port, an intermodal Route through a node of Dhamramtar port
was designed and saving in cost 20% and TEUs missing liners were reduced by 40% with savings in Buffer yard.
 Intermodal Drayage of containers with route planning, idle time reduction and optimum TAT of container
trailers in a network of ICDs(Pune Telegaon, Panvel, Uran, Dronagiri) connecting Plant at Pune-Sanaswadi and
terminals at JNPT , Dighi and Dharamtar, whereas later two are barge loading of containers transhipping into
liners at JNPT to avoid missing liners due to road congestions and traffic delays.
 Negotiated free buffer warehousing and onward movement of Consolidation of LCL cargo with direct
destination to USA, Europe, Africa, Gulf etc., are feasible at Mumbai/Chennai transhipment HUBs.

ESSAR STEEL MINNESSOTA LLC (TACOMA PORT)- A STRATEGIC BUSINESS DECISION
 RFP for Development of new export bulk terminal in Tacoma Port as an Iron Ore Export Port and Joint
feasibility Study was done along with Metro Port
 Setting up of SOPs for Marketing and Operations for various Dry bulk cargoes.
TATA PROJECTS–HYDERABAD ROLE : SR. MANAGER (LOGISTICS AND STORES)

 Booked Liner Services of APL Ltd, MSC, Hapag-Llyod-AG, Maersk Line, MOL & NYK Lines etc for containerised
imports through various Indian port terminals as per project sites.

through shipper Tata Corus-EU, Freight Forwarder JM Baxi and NYK line was the liners at Haldia port.
