Release, please, this bound one
By the power of your right hand.
Receive the song of your people,
Exhalt us, Lord, and make us

Mighty one, holy one, in your
Goodness guide your assembly.

Translation:
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—
so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

Shir la-ma'alot esa einai el heharim meayin yavo 'ezri
'Ezri me’im h[adonai] 'oseh shamayim al yiten lamot
Raglekha al yanum shomrekha hineh lo
Yanum ve-lo yishan shomer yisrael : ki shomrekha ki tzilekh al yad yeminekh
Yomam hashemesh lo yakeka ve-yareakh baliylah
Ki yishmarekh mikol ra' yishmor et nafshekha
Ki yishmor tzetekha uvoekha me'atah ve-'ad 'olam
Translation:
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there?
My help comes from the lord, who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.
The lord himself watches over you! The lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night.
The lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
The lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
The lower section of the manuscript contains amuletic texts, referring to the demon Lilith,
and the depiction of three angels countering Lilith's attempts to harm newborns.
The names of three angels thought to ward off the demonic Lilith. Their names are invoked
to protect and safeguard a newborn child.
