† Isa. 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the
Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast
yourselves.
Gracious and Glorious Heavenly Father:
This literal promise is to Israel, but the spiritual promise is to me! So Holy
Spirit, help me live up to my privileges today, and live for God obviously and
evidently, because then _________ and _________ can see a reason to believe
the gospel. I will become their priest, relating them to God in times of distress.
Set me apart for holy service by the ministry of personal evangelism I perform.
I work at my same job; I shop at the same stores—but make me totally and
completely a ministering servant of Christ. My career stays the same, but my
vocation is to present a perpetual sacrifice by praying continually, and salting that
sacrifice with thanksgiving and praise. Give me training in our Adult Classes.
Give me the chance to live a life of self-consecration to the King! That being my
aim, help me leave the distractions and worries to those with no higher calling.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach
the kingdom of God.
Isa. 61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien
shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Let others worry themselves sick over politics, world crises and higher
prices. I want to give myself to a service that befits someone who—like the Lord
Jesus—is ordained to a perpetual priesthood. Since that is my sacred duty Lord,
let me put on the robes of holiness in my walk as I minister before you all day
today. Help me step into the garments of praise as I proclaim the gospel. I
ask this in the name of my great High Priest and pattern, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Thursday, June 28
Luke 5:5-6 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the
night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they
had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
My Master and Lord:
Sometimes it seems so hard to submit to your will—nevertheless at thy word. I
have to say “nevertheless” with regard to your word when my own mind is spinning.
There are some things in the Bible I do not understand. There are difficult
doctrines. Sometimes I wonder how certain events in your providence can be
consistent with your goodness, or your justice, or even your love.
So if I put my hand to my face and say, I cannot understand it, let me lay my
other hand to my heart and say, Nevertheless I will follow your word. My reason may
find it impossible to explain, but Lord I put my faith above sight and believe it.
I have to say, nevertheless at thy word, when exposed to questions by skeptics.
After all, one fool can ask more questions than fifty wise people can answer.
Even if I cannot reply to their taunts, I do believe they can be answered. There is
an answer in your word somewhere. So let me put scripture above sense, and
view it as no disgrace to have to leave some of the Adversary’s arrows sticking in
my shield of faith. They do me no harm there. So, nevertheless at thy word.
Help me say nevertheless at thy word, when your command runs counter to my
experience. Whatever happens, the only right course is to pursue all that is right,
and avoid everything that is wrong. So help me God, today!
Sometimes there is a duty indicated in your word that does not seem wise
to the carnal wisdom of parents or friends. Help me say nevertheless at thy word,
even when self-esteem gets in the way. Sometimes obedience involves self-denial.
Make me more willing to follow your word, to the honor of Jesus’ name! Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 14-15; 2 Chronicles 25-27
Friday, June 29
Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The
way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men,
though fools, shall not err therein.
Holy God and Helping Savior:
The way of holiness is so straight and plain. I am slow, but I cannot go off
track if I just stick to it. Keep me from the worldly-wise, who get it so twisted
with many a self-inflicted, self-justified turn in their life. They make terrible
mistakes and usually always miss the goal. This will not bring revival.
Playing politics is shortsighted. When people choose the policy of
manipulation as their road it leads them through dark mountains of doubt, and
deep valleys of despair. Give me a mind to know better. Help me do exactly as
you bid me, and nothing else. That is what keeps me on the King’s highway,
and under royal protection as I bow my head to beg for revival.
Forgive me Lord, for all those times I got myself out of difficulty by
deception or a doubtful act. Truth will never hurt me. Keep me in the middle of
the high but hard road of truth and integrity, because that is the best possible
way. Let me not practice circular reasoning in my mind to rationalize circular
sailing in my life. Help me be just, fear not, and fear naught. I will follow Jesus,
and trust truth with all the consequences.
If the worst pain could be avoided by wrongdoing I would, by the very
attempt, fall into a worse evil than the worst possible problem. Your way—the
way of holiness—is the best way. Help me always take it, because it leads to
revival. Though people may make a fool of me, make me truly wise in my
choices. And Lord, lead our pastors and missionaries abroad in a plain path
because of their haters. For so I ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to
destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

Isa. 44:4-5 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water
courses. One shall say, I am the LORD’S; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob;
and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name
of Israel.
Lord Our Vision:
Who can count the blades of grass? They are a good picture of what we
pray for as evidence of revival! Give us converts who flourish like watered grass
in summer. Let this be the manifestation of your movement among us!
Make those new believers vigorous and numerous, because you say, “they
shall spring up”. Grass comes up by itself from planted soil. So make all our efforts
in ministry a seeding that brings new life naturally. Make our new converts like
the grass in the cracks of the sidewalk, which bear discouragement and trial and
still spring up! Give us an abundance of souls won, and make of those the most
dynamic disciples. Let me be a Christ-ian and not just a “Christ follower.”
Let us see souls saved from all sides, because you said, One shall say, and
another shall call, and another shall subscribe. The deacon’s child got saved—we
expected that. But now look, there’s another one from a broken home. And
here’s one who followed foolishness but came forward for grace. One is rich,
another poor, and a third from out of nowhere! You know them Lord, so you
can call them. Call them out of all trades and careers, from all religions and
denominations. Make us wonderstruck to hear someone tell us “I am the Lord’s,”
and another say he is a Christian (a “little Christ”). Your grace does not run in a
rut during revival; it breaks out where no one is looking—and where it least
seemed likely to grow. Lead us to souls as we seek this refreshing at this season.
Psa. 51:2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Savior and Loving Lord:
Forgiving my sin can be purely an act of your mercy alone. Today I flee to
you. Wash me through and through.
Hypocrites are content if their garments are white; I am crying, wash me!
Careless souls are content if others think they are clean; I want you to wash-out
my iniquities.
Like with David, sometimes there is one key sin that acts-out to show me
the mountain of my iniquities against you. Any single sin of mine is but a
falling rock from a high heap. I want you to remove the mass of the whole
mess. So little of my iniquity is seen by others, but it is a haunting terror to me!
Cleanse me from my sin. That is a very broad request. It goes beyond my cry
for washing. If washing alone will not do it, then try another process. If water will
not work, then fire must be used. Anything, so I can be purified for you.
You took away my sins with your blood, so rid me now of my propensity
to sin by any means necessary. Leave no guilt on my conscience, just like you left
no mark of sin-stain on my heart.
I do not cry against your chastening; I cry against the sin that drew it down.
I am sick of sin as sin. My loudest moans are against the evil of my own
iniquities, and not the painful consequences they bring. O that you would remove
it so far from me I am never likely to stumble that way again!
I thank you Lord. O, how gentle. For when I deal seriously with my sin,
then you deal gently with me. I find when I am finally willing to hate what you
hate, you quickly make an end of my sorrow by giving me real joy and peace.
Give me holiness unto the Lord so I can more fully praise the Lord! Amen.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
