L/E 'Tinuke Ibikunle Transformation & Empowerment Initiative, and Professor Olu Odeyemi, Founder of
Deaconess Moji Adepoju Enpost Forest Reserve, Ido Ijesha, wish to collaborate with your office in organising
Mrs. Abidemi Agbedehunsi an annual Eco Essay Contest. The presentation of gifts to winners will take place at
Mrs. Christianah Olufunke Enpost Forest Reserve, Ido Ijesha, on Tuesday June 05, 2018.

Major S.O Olawoyin Odeyemi Street, Ido-Ijesha, Osun State, a 2km by 1km expanse of land, consisting of:
RTD; Fish Farms, Palm Tree Plantation, Biogas Digester, Drinking Water Treatment
Adetoyese Shittu-Alamu; Technology, Arable Farm (Cassava, Maize, Plantain, etc,) Agro-forestry /Biodiversity
Olanrewaju Akinfenwa; Farm with about 150 labelled trees of different species. The Farm has played host to
Mrs Remi Dieyi; visitors from China, India, Holland, Benin Republic, Ghana, Kenya etc, and to many

Nigerian students and institutions. It is the first privately-owned Eco-tourist Farm in
Oluwade;

This year's World Environment Day Celebration is designed to:


- Raise awareness and urge governments, industry, communities, and
individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives and

urgently reduce the production and use of single –use plastic that pollutes oceans, damages
marine life and threatens human health
- Promote Eco Tourism and the need for preservation of nature
- Create public awareness of environmental, health and protection issues
- Sensitise people on the need to stop further environmental destruction and the importance of
voluntary community service for nation building
- Highlight the need and importance of effective waste management
- Strengthen neighbourhood spirit, and
- Send message to people, letting them know that the State cares about cleanliness and
preservation of the environment.

This year, we are trying a new concept that is designed to get young people, parents and policy makers
involved in the event. We are organising an ECO Essay writing contest for youths with the theme: “HOW
TO SOLVE CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGES AFFECTING MY COMMUNITY”. Talks on burning issues pertaining to the
environment shall also be given by astute professionals. The event will also feature an exhibition of
handcrafts, cultural dance and mini-drama by students.

We request from your office sir:


· Active participation of Tutor Generals and Principals of relevant schools
· Vehicles to convey students and officials to the venue (Ido Ijesa)
· Venue for the final Essay Writing Contest (We humbly suggest Osogbo High School)
· Honorarium for judges
· Branded T-Shirt for participants
· Gifts for winners of the Essay Contest
· Flex banners for the event
