1. Introduction

SmsBlocker is a smart application that runs in your mobile and assures 100% blockage of unwanted
SMS.

SmsBlocker gives you the power to block SMS – not only spam sms, but a complete control in
your hands to effectively block any SMS.

SmsBlocker continues to do the vigil all the time your phone is on.

SmsBlocker uses a complex algorithm to give you best results in blocking spam SMS. The algorithm uses
a proprietary logic to intelligently sense the spam.

SmsBlocker gives you the ultimate control over the SMS blocking. You can instruct the app via settings
about what to block and what not to. These settings override the inbuilt logic of the app.

2. Installation

Installing SmsBlocker is very easy.

1. Get the .SIS file of SmsBlocker from www.smsBlocker.in on your PC. (You can directly download it to
your mobile via GPRS or mobile internet)

2. Using the mobile cable or Bluetooth device, transfer this file to your mobile. If you use Nokia PC Suite
or any such software, double clicking on the file while the mobile is connected to the PC via cable, will
begin the installation.

3. While installation, you will be asked for the location- i.e. phone memory or card memory (if available).
Select the desired location. Recommended location is phone memory.

4. After successful installation, you can see the SmsBlocker icon in the folder you installed it.

5. Click on the icon and the application will ask the product key. Input the product key you received on
purchasing the application. The key is case sensitive.

6. After entering the correct key, the application will start and will be ready to use.

3. Block list

smsBlocker will itself block majority of the spam SMS. In addition, you can specify the specific SMS
sender whose all SMS you want to block. You can create or modify such list from the ‘Block list’ option.

4. Trusted sender list

After the start the application first time, it will ask you to create a ‘Trusted sender’ list. This is a list of SMS
senders whose SMS you do NOT want to block.
You will be directed to SMS Inbox for adding the entries in this list. So you need to add the entries such
as your bank’s alert, your subscribed SMS services etc. Note that all phonebook contact are by
default treated as ‘Trusted senders’. So you do not need to add them separately.
Add as many possible entries as you can so that those important messages will not be blocked.

5. Filter content

You can specify to allow or block the SMS if it contains a specific word in its content.
For example, if you specify the word ‘Lottery’ in the ‘Block content’ list, any SMS coming from an unknown
SMS sender will be blocked. Similarly, if you specify the word ‘transaction’ in the ‘Allow list’, any SMS
containing the word ‘transaction’, will be allowed and sent to inbox.

6. Block history

SmsBlocker keeps the record of all blocked SMS.


You can see the total blockage count and detailed log of blocked SMS from the options available.

‘Block history’ option can save approximately 500 entries SMS log. The ‘Bin’ folder will store the latest
100 SMS that are blocked.

You can read or restore the blocked SMS from ‘Bin’ folder (which is automatically created after
installation) in ‘Messaging-My folders’ option in your mobile.

7. Settings

You can decide the level or filtering or in other words the level of desired privacy from the settings.

1. Application autostart- Application will start automatically whenever you restart the phone.
Recommended option is 'On'.

2. Suspicious Msg.- SMS coming from an unknown mobile or an unknown SMS sender title (i.e. not
listed in 'Trusted sender list') will be treated as 'Suspicious Message' and it will be sent to 'Bin' folder or
Inbox or shown 'Preview' depending on setting you provide here.

3. Block Counter- A tiny indicator on the left top side of the Homescreen will show the number of spam
SMS blocked in that day. You can choose to see it or hide from this setting.

4. Country Code (Ex.:+91)- Blocking logic varies country wise. Specify the correct country callin/ dialing
code in which you use this software.

8. Uninstallation

You can uninstall SmsBlocker from your mobile. Just go to the ‘Application Manager’ and remove
SmsBlocker.

Note that uninstalling SmsBlocker will permanently remove all Block lists, Trusted sender lists, ‘Bin’ folder,
and all the settings of smsBlocker.

9. Quick Tips

1. Create a list of ‘Trusted senders’, who’s SMS you do not want to block.

2. Go to Inbox and move the spam SMS in ‘Bin’ folder to quickly block the spam SMS sender. The sender
will be added in the ‘Block list’ automatically.

3. To rest assured of SmsBlocker’s vigil, keep the ‘Application autostart’ option in ‘Settings’ on ‘On’ mode
always.

5. See the small SmsBlocker indicator icon on the left top side of the mobile Homescreen. If you can see
the icon, it means SmsBlocker is running in the background and working.

6. If in case you do not see the indicator icon, go to the location where you installed SmsBlocker and start
it.
