Explanatory notes With regard to the specifications for outside diameters, this standard conforms to ISO 161-1; with regard to the specifications for wall thickness, it conforms toIS0 4065, and with regard to tolerances on the outside dlameter, circularity and wall thickness, it conforms to ISO 11822-1 “The pressure rating (PN) is no longer used for pipe designation n basic standards for plastics pipes. However, for the purpose of comparison, table A.1 correlates the old PN values with the S and SDR values. It should be noted that the pipe outside diameters were selected from a preferred number series. ‘The service life for polybutene pipes at operating temperatures up to 50 °C, previously given as 60 years, may now be assumed to be at least 100 years. ‘Thenominal sizes and allowable working pressure to be used in particular applications will have to be included in the appropriate product standards or other applicable technical rules. ‘According to current knowledge of the long-term stability of polybutene, It can be assumed that pipes convey- ing water are capable of resisting the pressures given in tables 4 and 5. ‘Where fluids are to be conveyed which could be hazardous if handled incorrectly, the pipe manufacturer should be consulted. ormen-Downlond-Bouthtayvr Tomar aN: 1416024Ne 4217705 Table Page DIN 16969 : 1997-12 correlation of pipe series, standard dimension ratio and nominal pressure ripe series js) | Stan dimanson rao] Nomina pressure 26 a oa) 20 a 4 167 a 6a") is 33 oy 125 2 6a) 10 2 8 8 7 10 63 138 (25)) . 5 " * 4 2 20 318 73 ea) °) Not includad in the 1986 ecition of DIN 16869.
