Project Proposal – Casing of Production Oil Well in Coventry, England.

Abstract – Lear Corporation, a multinational company, with its head office in the United
Kingdom, are looking to invest in the production of crude oil to meet competitive and
consumer increasing demand in the production and supply of crude oil.

A challenge is presented; the formation encountered in one of the wells to be drilled and
produced is extremely weak. This would make drilling and production completely impossible
as drilled formation (rock particles in the earth’s crust) would cave in as soon as the drill
string is pulled out.

Cov Oil services have come up with a suitable solution to this challenge to help ensure that
production is made possible in a very efficient yet cost effective manner. This would require
a casing and tubular running project.

Casing and Tubular Running Service for Lear Corporation’s Oil Well.

Casing and Tubular running entails the running of a large diameter (casing) or small diameter
(tubing) steel pipe into an already drilled hole to enable effective and undisturbed production
of crude oil.

This would provide;

o Stabilization for the hole/well that has been drilled

o Protection of the hole/well from caving in of weak formation and
contamination from fresh water reservoir fluids
o A smooth passage for the crude oil to be produced

requirements

Ultimately these functions will positively impact and increase output balancing the three
ideals; cost, time and quality bearing in mind the sustainability and risk assessment involved
in the project.

The casing of the Goulson well in west-midlands England is the first Production well in this
region. The Project we are about to undertake involves designing, preparing, setting up and
installation of the casing of this well. This Project is going to involve three phases and the
whole project is set to take 45 days. This project is a service for Leah Corporation who
performed the exploration phase of this well. In this Project we intend to achieve the
following Objectives;

Scope
At the end of this project we intend to have created a proper casing platform in which the
next phase of the oil production can commence. This project after completion intends to
follow strict safety procedures to leave the nearby residential areas and agriculture unharmed.
