    QUESTION: My friend, what do you believe occurs when we die?

    Especially our loved


    ones, are we ever reunited again?

    ANSWER: The teaching has room for many interpretations. I'm sure you are concerned
    about your mother. There is a wide range. Some say we go to one of the paradise and
    prepare for next life. some say we are just gone into whatever and wherever it is
    we came from. and a few inbetween. My teacher says that all of our loved ones, and
    all of our ancestors, and all of our descendants, live in our hearts every moment
    of every day. We in turn live in their hearts too. So we are always together, no
    matter what form we take, or if we have this body or not.This heart felt teaching
    goes beyond the physical and into the connection of spirit that we all have and
    share.

    QUESTION: does ancestral veneration hold any special place in Mikkyo tradition?

    ANSWER: Yes. in most of the Buddhist sects remembering those who came before is a
    central tenant.
