What education issue is on your radar, and why? I will answer once I
know what the problems are, before I can come up with a solution.

What do you hope to change about the education system? I need to know
what needs to be done before I can come up with the solution.

Why do you want to be a school board trustee? Because my son is in

education, I thought I’d give it a fling. I thought I’d like to do some public
service.

position of Trustee and therefore I am dealing with the Board daily

What education issue is on your radar, and why? I am directing my

attention to the currently All Day Learning program. Reasons for this
interest are the Ministry's lack of funding of the mandatory program and the
potential for issues to arise that affect families, their childcare subsidy
funding and other underlying but hidden issues

What do you hope to change about the education system? My goal is for
transparency and accountability at all levels. As a trustee one can set
examples and expectations for transparency and accountability throughout
the Board.

Why do you want to be a school board trustee? Outside of the issues

already named above, I feel that it is important to have an array of trustees to
make up the components of a diverse Board. I feel that I bring a hands on
approach as I have children attending a school with in the Board. I also bring
the Social Work approach based on my full time employment. I do feel that
what I offer compliments the current Board direction.

What education issue is on your radar, and why? The education issue that is
on my radar is improved student achievement and outcomes for ALL students.
Many of our students face challenges. Whether it is special education needs,
mental health issues, or the challenges of being a child in today's society, it is
imperative that trustees, parents, and community members continue to advocate
for the resources needed to ensure that ALL students can succeed.

What do you hope to change about the education system? The education
system needs to be more responsive to the needs of individual students and their
families. There is also a need to improve the transparency surrounding board
decisions and increase the fiscal accountability.

Why do you want to be a school board trustee? I am firmly committed to the

belief that all children deserve an education that provides the tools and skills that
will assist them in being successful. I believe that publicly funded education that
is accountable to the citizens of Ontario is the best way to ensure that the
children receive that instruction. My education in finance and accounting is an
asset that I can utilize to increase the fiscal responsibility of the board. I have
spent the past 15 years advocating for the needs of not just my own five children,
but all of the students within the Thames Valley District School Board, and I will
continue to advocate for ALL students.
