Supplies List:

Ruffled Cufflette
Stitches used:
About 2 oz of yarn Sc= Single crochet
(worsted weight)
Hdc= Half Double
“J” Hook Crochet
Tapestry Needle Blsc= Back Loop

Sewing thread and needle for but-
ton (optional) SS= Slip Stitch
Scissors These pretty wristlets are crocheted in
2 Buttons (optional) rounds using simple stitches.
They add an elegant touch to your winter
wardrobe!

Abbreviations:
St= Stitch Beg= Beginning

Ea= Each Sk= Skip

Nx= Next Rnd=Round

Ev= Every WS=Wrong Side

Rep= Repeat RS=Right Side

Gauge for the cuff is 13 blsc for 14 rows=3.5” square.

For a smaller glove, use an “I” hook.

Cuff:
*Using “J” Hook, ch 14, leaving a 4” tail at beg. (Ill. 1)
*(ROW 1) WS. SC in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch to the end.
(13 sc) (Ill. 2)
*(ROW 2) RS. ch 1, turn. blsc in ea st to the end of row. (Ill. 3)
*Rep Row 2 for 20 more rows. (22 rows total) (Ill. 4)
(Don’t forget, you’re working in the back loop for ea row! And if you
lose count of your rows, just count the number of ribs you have. You
should have a total of 11 ribs, after 22 rows.)

*ch1, fold wrist together, right sides facing(Ill. 5) and attach the top
of the row you’ve just completed to the bottom edge of the first row
using a slip stitch all the way accross. (13 ss) (Ill. 6)
*Turn cuff inside out. (Ill. 7 & 8)
Create Bell Shape:
(The entire Bell is worked in rounds that are joined.)

The beg tail of your cuff will be exposed at this point. Pull it
tightly and work it into your first round. (Ill. 9)
*(Rnd 1) ch 2, hdc in same st as ss. (This counts as the first hdc.)
1hdc in end of each row of cuff. Ss to the top of ch 2. (23 hdc)

* (Rnd 2~Increase) Ch 2, hdc in same st as ss, 1hdc in nx


3 st, [2 hdc in nx st, 1 hdc in nx 5 st.] 3 times, ss in top of ch 2.
(26 hdc)
* (Rnd 3) Ch 2, hdc in same st as ss, 1 hdc in ea st around, ss to
top of ch 2. (26 hdc)
* (Rnd 4~Increase) Ch 2, hdc in same st as ss, 1 hdc in nx 2 st,
2 hdc in nx st, [hdc in nx 4 st, 2 hdc in nx st] 4 times, 1 hdc in
last st, ss to top of ch 2. (31 hdc)
* (Rnd 5) Repeat row 3. (31 hdc)
(If you want a shorter cufflette, end with round 5 and add edg-
ing.)
* (Rnd 6~Increase) Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st as ss, 1 hdc in nx 2 st,
2 hdc in nx st, [1 hdc in nx 5 st, 2 hdc in nx st] 4 times, 1 hdc in
last 2 st, ss to top of ch 2. (36 hdc)
*(Rnd 7) Repeat row 3. (36 hdc) (Ill. 10)

Edging:
You can either repeat Round 3 one more time for a straight edge
(Ill. 11) or you can make a ruffle edging. (Ill. 12)

Ruffle: (optional)
* [ch 3, ss in base of ch 3, ss in nx st] Repeat all the way
around the glove. After last ss, tie off, leaving a 3” tail.
Weave into the inside of the glove using the Tapestry Needle.
Now, you can add a pretty ribbon trim around the wrist, sew on a
cute button or both! (Ill. 13&14) Have fun embellishing!
