Multicultural Literature Integration enables all students to gain a greater

understanding of culture, whether that be their own or of others. This method of
teaching adds diversity into any lesson plan. This is an opportunity for students to
see themselves in their own classroom. The stories that focus on multiculturalism
describe how people live in different parts of the world. This strategy for teaching,
not only educates the students, but it also teaches them respect for those that are
different than them. This is a great chance to focus attention on the different
ethnicities within the classroom.
This method of teaching is not specifically directed towards a certain
population in the class. It is helpful for all learners, this includes; special needs and
English language learners. Finding and using multicultural literature is inclusive
with those who fall outside of the categories like race, religion, ethnicity, disability,
and gender. This lesson plan prepared is helpful for all kinds of learners because
there are visuals, written words, activities that involve movement, and an in class
project.

students are unique and special in their own ways. Whether that be physical
