CHRISTIAN EDUCATION REPORT - Cheryl Moles, Christian Educator

Sunday School
We do not have summer classes. The new school year kick-off will be August 12.
Blessing of the Backpacks will be August 5.
Parents’ Night Out w ill not be held in J uly. W e w ill gather again on August
10.
T3EM w ill be July 17. Please check with your commission/committee chair to know
if you are meeting.

The family prayer group meets on Mondays at 11:00 am at the church. If you can-
not attend yet have needs for prayer, please email kaysf122@aol.com.

SUMMER CHALLENGE FOR KIDS -


Children 12 years and younger may participate in an opportunity to get a free meal at
Texas Roadhouse. Each child can pick up a bookmark for the event in fellowship hall.
Read three books from the church library OR memorize three Bible verses (sent by
email) by September 2 and you get a meal. A parent or Mrs. Moles has to verify that
you have done the requirements. You take the bookmark to Texas Roadhouse and get
a free kid’s meal. There are plenty of bookmarks to share with friends.

Session Notes from June for the July Herald

During its June meeting, session reviewed reports from commissions and committees and transacted routine busi-
ness.
Treasurer’s Report
The report for the month of May was approved with thanks. Income is low due to no deposit on May 29 when the
financial secretary was on vacation.

Deacons: the board met earlier today and reported spending $500 in assistance. A fund raiser is planned for fall.

Facilities: The west sanctuary window was repaired to prevent leakage. The roof may be done in the next two
weeks; three dry days will be needed.
Nominating: Alan Harder will serve as the session liaison.
Pastor Nominating Committee: the committee requested prayers as their work continues.
Commissioner to Presbytery: Luanne Tilstra attended the May 19 assembly. At that meeting the honorable re-
tirement of Rev. Scott Paul-Bonham was noted and the recognition of saints included three from our congregation.

Guess what time it is!!! It’s time for a 5th Sunday


carry-in hosted by the CLCA Commission. The
carry-in will be on July 29th following the morning
worship service. Pork BBQ sandwiches will be
served. Please bring a dish to share. There will be a presentation on this
church’s history. Make plans to join in on the fun and fellowship.
