Epicurus

Lived from 4 February 341 BCE until 270 BCE in Ancient Greece (born in
Athens).

Used science, not religion, to explain events in the world. Believed that gods
don't reward or punish humans. He did this to achieve a peaceful life. He said
nothing should be believed without logical examination and observation. He
believed in atomic theory.
