Therefore, when new SCV is installed onto old Supply Pump, above Bushing and Spacer are required.

[Appendix 1 ] Replacement procedure for SCV for new Supply Pump Pg. 1/1

1. Clean up the area around SCV to prevent the dust

from coming into inside PUMP.
Do not use work gloves to avoid foreign materials intrusion. SCV
Be careful not to misalign the direction
2. Loosen 2 Capscrews and remove SCV, O-Ring(2) of Connector
and Gasket.
Never use O-ring a Structural change of Supply Pump SCV (Suction Control Valve)
SCV is a little bit hard to pull out due to O-Ring(1).
Pull out SCV slowly by rotating it slightly.
Never insert tools between SCV Flange and Pump
Housing.

3. Install new O-Ring(2) and Gasket, after confirming

no foreign particles on the surface of Pump
Housing, new parts.
When foreign particles are found, clean up them totally.

4. Apply clean grease or gear oil to O-Ring(2) which is

equipped on new SCV and insert SCV into Pump
housing until SCV Flange touches on Housing
Be careful O-Ring and Gasket are not out of position.

5. Pre-tighten 2 Capscrews equally until SCV Flange

contacts on Housing surface equally and closely. Insert SCV by pushing this surface
Confirm that O-ring and gasket are not out of position. until SCV Flange touches onto
Housing surface.
6. Tighten 2 Capscrews with specified tightening torque.

8.85 N-m( 6.9∼10.8 N-m )

First Capscrew must be tightened again as surface.

7. After finished assembly, confirm there are no
fuel leakage from Pump.

2. Be careful for O-ring and Gasket to keep their position.
3. Be careful for O-Ring not to be damaged when inserting.

[Appendix 2] Installation procedure of new SCV onto old Supply Pump

1. Remove Connector from SCV Fuel Pipe

<Caution>
Be careful not to damage Harness Connector by applying
excessive force. Connector

Memorize the direction of Connector (Pump side, outside).
It is necessary when installing SCV. Structural change of Supply Pump SCV (S

2. Clean up around SCV area by using washing spray etc.

<Caution>
To prevent the foreign materials from coming into Housing or
adhering on SCV surface.

3. Remove 2 Capscrews which are tightening SCV.

<Caution>
Never use removed Capscrews again.
<Caution>
Apply the wrench at right angle not to damage the key hole.

4. Extract SCV from Housing.

<Caution>
Although it will be hard to remove due to O-Ring resistance,
pull out SCV straightly without using tools.
<Caution>
Do not remove it by turning to right and left.
<Caution>
Be careful not to hurt yourself by surrounding parts.

Never pry here by tools to prevent Pump

surface from damaging.

5. Remove SCV, O-Ring and Gasket
<Caution>
Never use removed O-ring and Gasket again.
<Caution>
Be careful to prevent foreign materials from coming into
inside Pump.

It is likely to remain on Housing side.

6. Confirm all removed parts Gasket
Confirm that all relating parts are removed.
See right picture.

7. Confirm all replacing parts. Spacer 2 capscrew

Confirm that all relating parts are prepared.
<Caution>
To keep the parts clean;
Never put the parts on dirty working table.
Never touch the parts with dirty hands.
<Caution>
Never use again the removed parts shown at section "6".
O-Ring(1) for SCV side
with larger I.D. 22.8 mm

O-Ring(2) for Pump side

with smaller I.D. 19.8 mm

8 Apply clean Diesel Engine Oil on O-Ring(2).
And, put O-Ring into the groove of Housing O-Ring(2)

<Caution>
◇ Confirm there are no foreign materials on O-Ring grooves
and surfaces.
◇ When dusts are found, clean up by washing spray etc.
◇ Never touch with dirty hands.
◇ Confirm there are no foreign materials on O-Ring.
◇ Do not use working gloves. Install O-Ring(2) onto the o-ring
◇ Be careful for O-rings not to drop off. groove of Housing.

9. Apply Engine Oil on O-Ring which is installed on SCV.

<Purpose> To prevent O-ring from damaging.
<Caution>
◇ Use clean Diesel Engine Oil.
◇ Be careful for foreign materials not to adhere on O-Ring.
<Caution>
The top end of SCV is covered with Cap (Bushing).
Never remove this Cap.

Apply clean diesel engine oil.

10. Apply clean Diesel Engine Oil on O-Ring(1).

Install O-Ring(1) onto the groove with larger inside diameter Spacer Deeper groove
of Spacer. side is SCV
<Caution> side.
There is a directivity on Spacer. Place Spacer so that Install O-
deeper O-ring groove side faces to SCV side. Ring(1)
<Caution>
◇ Confirm there are no foreign materials on O-Ring grooves
and surfaces.
◇ When dusts are found, clean up by washing spray etc.
◇ Never touch with dirty hands.
◇ Confirm there are no foreign materials on O-Ring.
◇ Do not use working gloves.
◇ Be careful for O-rings not to drop off.

11. Install SCV with Spacer on Housing. Be careful for O-Ring not to go out
<Caution> from the groove of Housing.
Confirm O-Ring(2) is set in the groove regularly.
<Caution>
◇Insert SCV until Spacer contacts to Housing and Spacer
contacts to SCV.
◇Insert SCV straightly without turning to left and right.
<Caution>
Connector must be jointed as original direction.

Insert SCV until Housing, Spacer and

SCV contact each other.

12. Tighten Capscrews temporarily.
<Caution>
◇Tighten Screws temporarily with pushing SCV to Pump
Housing by hand until Housing, Spacer and SCV contacts
each other.
◇Tighten 2 Screws equally.

<Note> y p g
becomes easy to pre-tighten by pushing SCV to Housing by
hand.

13. Tighten Screws with specified tightening torque.

8.85 N-m( 6.9∼10.8 N-m )

Interference

PS Hose

Be sure to proceed the following jobs and Tie Band

adjustment after having replaced SCV
(including Supply Pump).
(1) Check of Fuel Filter clogging.
(2) Air bleeding of Fuel Piping line.
(3) Supply Pump specification learning
