METAL DRAWING COMPOUNDS
A very important segment of the metal working industry is metal forming, in this process the metal instead
of being cut or machined, is forced to flow to acquire the desired dimensions by the use of the suitable
mechanical equipment. Metal forming process includes operations like pressing, stamping, deep drawing,
wire drawing, and tube drawing and forging. During these operations considerable amount of heat and
stress and developed. Our drawmet grades are tailor made to satisfy the various requirements included in
metal drawing/forging operations.
HP DRAWMET 15, 15S

Wire drawing oil fortified with high performance wetting agents. This oil is specially suited for deep drawing
of aluminum.
Application areas: The product has been specially developed for aluminum wire drawing applications. This
product ensures nil wire breakage and scouring. DRAWMET 15 S is recommended for high speed drawing
and can be used in the gear box of drawing equipment.

HP DRAWMET 22
General purpose compound used for wire/tube drawing of carbon steels and difficult nonferrous alloys. The
cream coloured paste consists of inert fillers to impart the requisite film strength.
Application areas: Suitable for use as a coolant in wire / tube drawing of steel and other difficult nonferrous
draws. This product is also suitable for use in pressing operations.

HP DRAWMET 44
Non staining, water-soluble cream coloured paste for “dry on” or emulsion application. It is manufactured
with specially balanced mixture of soap and fat. The recommended dilution ratio with water is between i to
5 percent depending upon the gauge of wire to be drawn.
Application areas: The product can be used for deep drawing of wires, tube drawing, forming, spinning and
other similar medium to heavy duty operations of carbon steels and nonferrous metals.

HP DRAWMET 81 CF
This is a semi synthetic chlorine free product can be used for boiler tube pipe bending operation. Can also
be used for pilgering operation. It can withstand filtration, centrifuging, etc.
It has been tried out at ABB-ABL Durgapur and has given good results.

HP DRAWMET 2000
A viscous, high molecular weight, liquid polyoxyalkylenepolyol has proven to be exceptionally effective
water soluble drawing lubricant, are used in industrial applications including die casting, forging, steel and
automobile manufacture. HP DRAWMET 2000 has excellent film forming properties and chemical and shear
stability. Non-corrosive HP DRAWMET 2000 does not sludge or gum. In addition, it has good lubricating
action, outstanding compatibility with other materials, and is not affected by hydrolysis, bacteria, oxidation
or heat under normal use or storage conditions.
