Action Plan Template

Stage 1 – Desired Results


Established Goals:

- To improve coordination between L1 and L2 teachers.


- To reinforce and to acquire knowledge and understanding of Science’s
contents.

Understandings: Essential Questions:

Stage 2 – Assessment Evidence

- The L2 teachers notice that certain science contents are not deeply understood by
all students. This fact makes necessary to include these contents in an
crosscurricular way through other subjects in L1.

- It is possitive to work in a globalized way to internalize the content better.

- We have to make the most of our teaching learning proccesses. Working side by
side with the other teachers is more effective.

- The students will be more confident if they know that all the contents are going to

be globalized.

-Observation; and video recording of students oral presentations (opening at the


beginning of the academic year and closing in June; so both the students and the
teachers can see the progress)

Stage 3 – Action Plan


Actions:

- L2 teachers must identify relevant contents to reinforce at the beginning of each


didactic unit. Extract this information in L1 .

-The L2 teacher can decide, according to the contents to work , which teacher can
include the same contents in L1 .

-Establish a meeting with the corresponding L1 and L2 teachers before starting a


new didactic unit, according to the nature of the contents to develop (e. g.
dictations, sentence analysis, cardinal points, lattitude and longitude lines...).

- Teachers at school must follow the same path (daily assembly, star of the day).

- Design a chart and a resource bank in each level at the beginning of the school
year, in which L1 and L2 teachers must know the vocabulary, content,
grammar,spelling ...are going to be taught.

-Students will have positive reinforcement to build confidence and self steem (e.g.
praising, giving stickers,positive words,...)

-Parents should be informed at the beginning of the bilingual programm about our
methology to ensure all of us work in the same way; and reflect about it every year .
