ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY YEAR 4

History‘A Convicts Perspective’ Oral Presentation


Section1:
Overview
This task will assess all students’ in their ability to produce, rehearse and present a video
recording of themselves from a convict’s perspective. Students will need to include
information about convict life, the positives and negatives they face during their journey
on the First Fleet and what their life was like on arrival in Australia.

Plan, rehearse and deliver presentations incorporating learned content and taking into
account the particular purpose and audiences (ACELY1689)

Section 2: Student Activity


 Your oral presentation will need to include the following:

o What life was like before you became a convict.


o How you became a convict.
o What the journey was like on the First Fleet.
o The positives and negatives experienced during transportation.
o What life was like on arrival in Australia.

 You will need to write an information piece which includes the information above,
rehearse and video record yourself to present it to the audience.
 You will be using (Do Ink) to record your oral presentation.
 Costumes and props can be used if they are appropriate.
 Your video recording should be 2 – 3 minutes long. Maximum 3 minutes
 Due date: Week 10 – Wednesday 27th June period 6
