Sulphate resisting Portland Cement

Shall be stored in a weather-proof cement store with floor raised at least 300 mm

Admixtures containing calcium chloride or calcium formate as active constituents shall under
no circumstance, be used in structural concrete containing reinforcement, prestressing
tendons or embedded material

Aggregates
Shall not contain water soluble-sulphur trioxide om excess of 0.1 % & they shall be obtained
from source approved by SO

Fine aggregate shall be naturally occurring sand & shall not contain silt or other fine material
exceeding 6% by volume when tested acc to Standard Method in BS 812. 6

Mixing
a) Calculated quantity of water from tests of aggregate water content, may be varied for
not more than +- 5%
b) For hand mixing of concrete, 10% extra cement is added to mix proportion specified
c) Concrete shall not be free fall more than 1.5m
d) Hand tamping, rodding, spading
e) Compact concrete
