Teacher’s Names: MEDALI OLIVERA AND CHRISTIAN GALLEGOS Date: 06 /07 /2018

 Select: We are going to teach the third conditional.

 Fine-Tune: We are going to teach how to use the third conditional in
positive, negative and interrogative in different real cases.
 List: The third conditional can be used in different regret situations and
then explain some ideas about imaginary or hypothetical past situations.
 Brainstorming: It will be generated a brainstorm of five sentences that can be
used in real everyday situations.
- If Anne had died young, she wouldn’t have had children
- If she had studied, she would have passed the exam
- If the film had won an Oscar, it would have become famous right
away
- If I had become a million dollars, I would have traveled to China
- If I had known Mary was in town, I would have invited her to the
party
 Select: A sentence that is simple and realistic and that can be easily
used in a typical student situation will be chosen. (If she had studied,
she would have passed the exam)
 Decide: Students are going to describe a typical situation problem and
then they will use the third conditional according to different situations.
 Analyze: It’s analyzed the grammatical structure of the target sentence:
If + past perfect, would have + past participle (If she had studied, she
would have passed the exam)
 Analyze: The target sentence and its meaning will be analyzed asking
different context questions. (According to the sentence what situation
do you think it is about?)
 Analyze: The pronunciation of the sentence will be practiced
respecting and distinguishing the intonations of each part of the
sentence, one intonation for the first part and another intonation for the
second part.
 Analyze: Propose different questions of regrets situation about the
target sentence. (What would have happened if she had
studied?)
 Decide: Students will be able to talk about hypothetical past events
using in the third conditional.
