Trinity/HOPE
September 2010
August is a busy month for Trinity/HOPE. A “Haiti Night” event is celebrated, a board of direc
tors meeting is held and a training workshop for our employees is conducted in Haiti. Because
of God’s blessings and your generosity, we continue to be able to start more feeding pro
grams and bring our Haitian brothers and sisters to a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Witnesses for Christ
By Keith Logan
It’s true…great organizations start with great people. God has richly
blessed Trinity/HOPE with a team of unbelievably dedicated men that
work for His purpose in Haiti. I was reminded of this fact again during
our recent August Workshop in Port au Prince, where we brought our ten
Feeding Program Directors and our Supervisor/Manager together for a
twoday training event. One of the topics for discussion was “Trinity/
HOPE Programs as a Christian Witness,” led by Lophane Laurent, our
Haitian Manager/Supervisor.
As we went around the conference table and heard how each Feeding
Program Director felt their job allowed them to witness to others and
FEED the children of Haiti the True Bread of Life, it became obvious
that God handpicked this team of men to make a difference in a coun
try so desperate for HOPE.
Hearing stories of the selfless acts many of these men performed during
the earthquake, or how they look forward to the opportunity to share the
Gospel of Jesus Christ with the kids during each school visit, or how
they are respected leaders within their community and church, I was
proud to be in their company. Regardless of their stories, they humbled
themselves and gave all the glory and thanksgiving to God for using
them to reach the children of Haiti’s future. They discussed what a privi
lege it was to have the opportunity and responsibility to shape future
missionaries within their own country.
As a special gift and reminder of the ultimate purpose of our work, we
gave each school and Feeding Program Director a laminated poster of a
Cross made from the words of John 3:16. They really appreciated this
gift and accepted it proudly. As we prepare to start a new school year,
we thank God for each of these great men and encourage you to keep
them in your daily prayers. May God continue to bless them, protect
them and use them for His purpose.
