Abstract
This paper addresses two sets of issues. First, about the form of future secularism, visions and
portfolio and second about its function towards to justification and implementation on Universal
Declaration of Human Rights as Resolution 217.
1. Subsequent secularism will influence a society for religious evolution. It dispenses with the
concept of God, elements of the supernatural, religious laws and culture. The term subsequent
secularism has come to mean a realm that is ‘neutral’ or ‘religion-free’; it will banish religion from
any practical place in culture’. It will develop a “Religion without religion.
2. Subsequent secularism will promote the freedom of expression at a highest level in human
history. According to Derrida, freedom is impossible without a concept of equality. Equality is a
social deal which will be support by legislation in future.
Implementation
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction
of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or
social origin, property, birth or other status.
Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or
international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be
independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
'right to life” is not synonymous to 'obligation to live'. From that point of view, the right to live can
coexist with the right to die. Human being is entitled to end his or her own life only under
rational suicide. Right to life and right to die also expressing reciprocal rights and duties.
Since the very birth of the United Nations, protecting and advancing fundamental human rights
has been one of the primary objectives of the organization. The drafters of the Charter of the
United Nations included a pledge by member states "to reaffirm faith in fundamental human
rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women.
Environmental change in general and climate change in particular, are now recognized to be
among the greatest threats to human rights. Subsequent secularism will deals with such issues
related to any human rights. We live in times of threats, risks and fears. We must find the right
historical moment to draft a new text or redraft Universal Declaration of Human
Rights.
