 DESIGN STRATEGY
Concept Diagrams
MULTI-MODEL PROJECT SITE
Located at the southwest corner of Lake
Street and Damen Avenue, the multi-
modal project will support east and
westbound Green Line elevated trains,
the #50 Damen Avenue bus, taxis, and
private and shared bicycles to promote
multi-modal transportation.
PROVIDE INTUITIVE ENTRY
The station entry is positioned to the
western side of the site to c reate the
capacity for multi-modal passengers to
intuitively navigate to and from the
station. This will enable both daily and
special event scenario passengers to
directly navigate to their preferred mode
of transit.
INCREASE TRANSPARENCY
The transparent station entry façade will
heighten perceived safety and security,
and provide intuitive wayfinding to ease
passenger access. The western façade is
more solid a t the south and west to help
maintain privacy for the adjacent
residents.
ESTABLISH ICONOGRAPHY
The composition & articulation of the
elevator towers at the north and south
sides of the platform, passenger bridge
and treatment of the new girder across
Damen provide the canvas for station
identity and further enhances wayfinding
to the station.
