During the 2005 – 2006 academic year, Angela taught grade 4 English language arts,
mathematics, social studies, science, health, drama and French to a group of mixed
ability students. In the 2006 – 2007 academic year, Angela was the team lead for
grade 6 teaching English language arts and social studies as well as grade 9 drama.
During these years we were utilizing the Kent County CORE Curriculum based on
Michigan standards.
During her tenure at AAM, Ms Arneson was a valuable member of the AAM team.
Professionally, she has performed all duties requested of her, maintained good
attendance, and established an excellent rapport with all staff. Her classroom
environment was warm and nurturing. Her interactions with her students were always
positive and caring. Student expectations were clearly articulated by Angela, and as a
result her students developed into confident and independent learners.
Ms. Arneson was highly involved in AAM community life at our new school. She was
the advisor for the elementary swimming club, coached the elementary drama club,
organized the elementary school field trip to Ski Dubai, and helped re-fashion the
social studies curriculum to be more relevant to an international audience. As the
grade 6 team lead, she organized the school sleep over, coached the games club, and
planned the grade 6 rewards trip. Angela also represented AAM on a term break trip
to Nepal to train a group of Nepalese teachers.
