Little Red Riding Hood
A. Underline the narrative tenses in the following paragraph.
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Little Red Riding Hood who lived with her mother. Little Red
Riding Hood’s grandmother had not been feeling very well, so one fine day she decided to visit her. The
little girl got ready, waved goodbye to her mother and promised to be careful. On her arm she carried a
basket which contained a cake her mother had specially baked for granny. It was a lovely spring morning,
the sun was shining and the birds were singing. She had been walking a little way when the basket seemed to become heavier
and heavier. So even though Little Red Riding Hood’s mother had told her to follow the path through the fields, the naughty child
decided to ignore her advice and take a short cut through a wood. As she went deeper and deeper into it, the cold and darkness
frightened her. She was making her way along the narrow path when she heard a noise. All of a sudden a big, fierce-looking wolf
jumped out from behind a bush and came towards her…
