Established in 1997 with only 17 members, BASIS has come a long way. Over
the two decades, the number of BASIS members has increased manifold and
more diverse in nature. Primarily, the challenge for BASIS was more about
making a sustainable institution. To move on to the next level we believe
BASIS should gradually move from need-based activities to a proactive
vision-based planning. This shift requires intense planning guided by a
long-term vision and more towards protecting member’s collective interest
targeted towards growth enablers.

Capacity
Development
 Facilitate members to participate in Government
tenders.
 Developing quality IT human resources for
sustainable growth
 Upgrade BITM to develop management and
process skills and transform it to be a center of
excellence.
 Secure a land from the Government for a
permanent campus for BITM.
 Develop facilitated learning for IT marketers.
 Establish dialogue with NRB for starting
technology transfer.
 Build capabilities on global technologies for
both local and global markets through online
and offline trainings, self-learning labs and
distant learning platforms.
 Ensuring commitments of global technology
companies to create local skills.
 Equip at least two classes with modern
interactive distant learning setup so that we can
run international and national programs
remotely with highly qualified resources.
 Establish a digital library with access to
international libraries, training courses and
contents.
 Develop workshop infrastructure with modern
tools for facilitated learning.
 Partner with IBA for Mid-Level management
training especially on behavioral and soft-skills
development along with ACMP.
 Partner with BUET, DU, SUST, BRAC University to
introduce advanced technology courses
