High Pressure Reciprocating VSAH-Type Pumps

VSAH cryogenic pumps are designed for heavy duty operation in cylinder filling stations and process ap-
plications. The E-motor is provided with a V-belt transmission to accommodate the rotary speed to the re-
quired stroke frequency. The gear box is operated with a standard gear oil. It is connected to the pump
head (cold end) by means of a distance piece which ensures that the pumping medium cannot get into
contact with the gear lubricant. Standard oil lubrication is mostly applied for oxidising media such as pure
oxygen, as well; oxygen-compatible lubricants can be used instead.
The oscillating piston rod is sealed with a spring loaded PTFE collar seal packing suitable for 20 bar suc-
tion side system pressure. A temperature-controlled electric seal heater keeps the seal packing at an op-
timised operating temperature. Behind the end of the seal packing a PTFE bellow connects the pump
housing with the piston rod and serves to keep the piston rod clean and dry, protecting piston and seal
packing against contamination and wear due to dust or icing.
The comparatively low rotary speed of VSAH pumps provides for reduced wear and facilitates long
maintenance free intervals.

VSAH-type piston pumps are designed for installation to a storage vessel suitable for the connection of a
single stage reciprocating cryogenic pump. The gas return connection of the pump is either connected to
the liquid phase of the tank via a thermosiphon installation or to the gas phase by means of a suitably de-
signed gas return line of sufficient diameter. If required, please contact us for more detailed information on
installation features and connection accessories, depending on the intended use of the supply system. For
further information detailed installation instructions are available (pump manual).

Notes on EC Machinery Directive:

Due to safety relevant features that are directly linked to the control design, Krytem pumps can only be re-
garded as complete machines in the sense of the EC Machinery Directive if they are delivered together
with an associated Krytem control unit. Such pump units are CE-marked by Krytem and supplied with a
corresponding Declaration Of Conformity.

Krytem pumps purchased and delivered without Krytem control must be regarded as machinery compo-
nents that have to be supplied with a Declaration Of Incorporation according to Annex II B of the Machinery
Directive. In this case the customer must take care to grant and attach the CE-mark after complete installa-
tion with a safe control on his own responsibility.

Guarantee and Maintenance for VSAH-type pumps

 Guarantee: 18 months after shipment, max. 5000 operating hrs on major components - gear
box, pump housing etc.; 1200 hrs on wearing parts of VSAH stainless,
1000 hrs on wearing parts
 It is recommended to hold one spare cold end on site and perform pump service via cold end
exchange. The revision of the cold ends should be performed by Krytem or a local Krytem rep-
resentative on a basis of the recommended maintenance interval (service contracts available).
 Operators training offered for pump inspection and onsite service including trouble shooting and
cold end replacement.
