The Diploma in Civil Engineering (DKA) graduates in Polytechnics, Ministry of Higher Education
will have knowledge, technical skills and attitude to adapt themselves with new technological
advancement and challenges in business related fields.

COURSE SYNOPSIS

INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM (IBS) cover basic concept of IBS concept
and components used in the construction industries. Students will learn various forms of creative
precast panels and panel production at precast yard erection on site. The students will also be
exposed to the concept of modular coordination and buildability of designs.

1.0 INTRODUCTION TO INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM


(IBS) QUIZ 1;
This topic covers the basic knowledge of Industrialised Building TEST 1;

System (IBS) including the definition, sustainable construction, PRACTICAL
overview and evolution. Also includes the types of precast panel, WORK;
advantages, disadvantages, future, forecast the demand for PRESENTATION
Industrialised Building System (IBS).
2.0 PRECAST COMPONENTS OF INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING

3.0 MODULAR COORDINATION

This topic equips the students with guidance to recognize the
