1. Objective
Ensure all employees are familiar with the Bomb Threat Emergency procedures and are informed to act
responsibly.

2. Policy
Bomb threats should be taken seriously, guests and employees’ safety are of paramount importance. All staff
must respond in a professional manner and in a way as not to raise undue alarm among guests and
employees.

3. Procedure
Bomb threats will most likely be received by telephone. Therefore, Fire Control Centre and Front Office staff
needs to be informed and trained in procedures

I. How to speak with caller, tone of voice, breathing control etc.

II. What information to record.

III. How to advise others a threat call is being received.

IV. Who to contact.

V. Keep the caller talking as long as possible.

VI. Back up support mechanisms.

 As soon as an employee receives a bomb threat letter or fax, it should be passed to Chief Security, who will
contact GM / EAM for decision to inform to Police Department Bomb Squad Unit.

 All hotel employees have a responsibility to be alert at all times to the suspicious package which is
possibility being left on the premises and informed DH and alert security.

 Only the GM or Police can announce an evacuation according to the circumstance and the information
available.

 Once the decision to evacuate is taken, the P&P and SOP for evacuation takes over.

 If it is decided to evacuate, the bomb squad unit will access to search the entire hotel.
