Alegent used retention practices to help with their high turnover rate. Some of the
useful methods they used include employee surveys, they evaluated their
turnover rates, and they provided training and shadowing for employees. Alegent
created an Employee Retention Task Force whose focus was to decrease turnover and
increase employee satisfaction. The task force identified several strategies to be used. .
Some activities are: Improved individual employee performance and motivation
Created organization culture and value and accessed for work/life balancing.
This approach was very important because without these efforts to lower
turnover rates, the company could have eventually failed. Because
Alegent used such great efforts, this greatly decreased their turnover rate,
employees were more satisfied, and Alegent won many awards for their
efforts.
