VII. Course Description


This course presents a comprehensive survey of the tourist destination in the world. Major discussion will be on international documentation,
visa requirements, health and safety issues, geographical characteristics, access routes, major attractions, gastronomy and distinctive cultural
attributes of major tourist destination countries, international organizations relating to tourism and their major functions. May include trip to an
overseas destination
This course also covers the application of concepts and principles of tourism in international travel. Its emphasis is places on the application
of World Geography and Culture. World Tourism will touch on the features of different continents of the world – their culture, history, attractions,
facilities, travel formalities, tourism potentials and their effects on International Travel.

IX. Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course the students must have:
1. Identified the location of continents and countries in relation to other countries and regions of the world on a blank map.
2. Named and described major attractions in each country, tell the time in different time zone, country codes and taglines.
3. Appreciated the tourist value of major tourist destinations;
4. Understood the process and legal requirements of traveling in foreign countries;
5. Realized the cultural differences and similarities among the people of the world;
6. Enhanced their research and presentations skills.
7. Culminated the different cultural features though dance, costumes, and cuisine of the world.
